The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD
AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,

OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period, attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two-thirds vote of membership present at a
general membership meeting by secret
ballot.
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability insurance
for CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities as per CVC
Bylaws.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

Hi Corvetter’s:
Well summer is almost here.
Hope everyone has their car’s in top
shape. The mystery Run is set hope
everyone will enjoy it. Bring a coat and
light clothes we will be in hot and cold
weather the Pre-run was lots of fun.
make sure your tanks are full we are
leaving from Jenson and 99 Carl’s Jr.’s
at 7:00 am be there at 6:30 so we have
time to give out goodie bags and have
a driver’s meeting.
Eat a little breakfast at home or at
Carl’s to tide you over. I really hope
everyone is enjoying the club I know
Connie and I are. If anyone has a
question about how the club is going or
would like to suggest something new
we have not been doing, please come
to one of our Board Meetings with your
idea’s. We would love to have you, just
let us know and we’ll put you on the

General Meeting Minutes 5-15-18
The General Meeting was called to order by
President Andy Anderson at 6:32pm. Minutes
from the April meeting were read. Joyce
Kroeker made a motion to accept the minutes
as read. Aimee Parkin seconded. Darlene
Derringer gave the Treasurer’s report.
Tonight’s raffle
brought in
$185. Winner
of the $50 bills
were Frieda
Null and Gail
Tavares – that makes 2 for Gail! VP of Public
Relations – Dick Johnson – let it be known,
birthdays totaled 800
years. Keith and
Debbie Garrison were
our winners of the
Panera Gift Card for
the longest marriage
this month – 26 years
– (what, you say, they were the only ones
celebrating a marriage this month). Well,
enjoy your lunch on the Johnson’s. Gail
Tavares has 3 meetings and 1 movie night on
her way to reinstating her membership. Her
sponsors are Keith and Debbie Garrison. VP of
Activities – Dick Danielsen – Went over our
past successful runs. 11 cars went to Laughlin
and our club won “Best Club Participation”
at Bakersfield’s Laughlin Run. Through the
grapevine, we heard Lynne Henenfent had a
GREAT time on the Penny Slots. We also
found out that Deb West can dance!! Then
Charlie Fosnaugh announced, our club took
2 nd Place in the Motor Division at
the Clovis Rodeo. We had 19
cars.
Diane Tjerrild provided
Mouse Decals for each car and
several members had mouse
hands. Looking ahead, we will be dedicating
our Run to Snelling to dear Dave Dawson.
Chuck Laningham collected ZERO in badge
fines so he put in a dollar. Debbie Garrison
gave her Sunshine and Clouds report. We
learned the Parkins are moving to Logan, UT
in June for Aimee to finish her degree.

Debbie Garrison
A little sad news to pass along, Joe Garcia’s Dad passed away on May 2 nd . His services
were the day of our meeting in Reedley. It was a very nice service; his Mom & Dad were
married 58 years & Joe has 3 brothers and a sister. His Mom and Dad had 20
grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Mike Hayes came down with pneumonia a month ago after our meeting, then Diane
came down with bronchitis which turned into pneumonia. The antibiotics made her a
little dysfunctional and she spun her out of control (her words) and she fell in the kitchen,
falling on her back. They put her on another antibiotic and she had to have CAT Scan. The
Wednesday before our meeting was the first day without a fever. Diane says “Getting old
is not fun”.
Joyce says Our Ed Kroeker has been lonesome for some hospital time. Spent several days
hospitalized at Clovis Community Hospital for a few miscellaneous problems.
Unfortunately, they did confirm that Ed does have lung cancer. Joyce reminds us to
remember what her Mom always said “Make memories while you can, don’t just have
wishes”.
Steve and Lydia are celebrating 4 years of life after open heart surgery, they say they are
glad to be part of the Corvette Club and enjoying new friendships. And from me and I’m
sure I speak for the rest of us We are glad to have you in our Corvette Family!
Heard from Pat and Patrick last Wednesday and they made it to St George Utah. Had
dinner with past members the Agars and Johnsons and are now on a 10-day bus tour
through Utah’s State and National Parks. When they return they’ll head off to Palm
Springs to check on Patrick’s Aunt and Uncle before heading home.
The Henenfent’s, Henderson’s and the Lebda’s are on a Paddleboat Cruise on the
Mississippi celebrating Mike and Lynne’s 50 th Anniversary. Can’t wait to hear all about it
at the next meeting.

Charlie and Kim just returned from a fabulous cruise around Japan for 8 days and then
spent 8 days cruising the Pacific Ocean along the Aleutian Islands to Alaska. Charlie
wanted to thank Dick Danielsen for taking care of the Clovis Parade Run which in case you
didn’t hear Central Valley Corvettes received a 2 nd Place Ribbon for our entry. He also
wanted to thank Chuck Laningham for taking care of our Movie Night last week. He said
it’s really great to know that we have people in our Club that will help you out when you
need it. Now that he’s back Charlie says he’ll try to take care of his own runs that he sets
up. Charlie is now a Princess Cruise booking agent!
Our Deb West is now a Pampered Chef consultant, so if any of you need something from
Pampered chef or want to have a party for your friends give Deb a call.
Heard a rumor that our Scott and Aimee are moving to Utah! Aimee explained that she
had completed all the online studies that she was allowed to do. So, they are off to Logan
at the end of May to pursue her degree in Music Therapy. Aimee shared with us that she
has been cancer free one year. We wish Scott and Aimee health and happiness.
Joyce and Ed and Jill and Steve are about to be Great-Grandparents and Grandparents
respectively again for the 9 th time. Jill’s Son Kevin and his wife Annie will be welcoming a
baby boy to be named Jackson Jefferson Foreman in the Fall. Congrats!!
Finally, some Good News for past members Mike and Sheryl Paul. Mike and Sheryl were
members when our Club was young and they were just newlyweds. They gave us our First
Corvette Baby, Austin who is now in his 20’s and then Baby Noah. As their family grew
the club had to become secondary to raising their family. They went on adding another
son, Jason. Sheryl already a successful emergency room nurse; Mike went on to realize
his dream job of becoming a pilot for a private airline. But they have spent the last four
years dealing with the sudden loss of his only sibling, his brother. Then Mike was
diagnosed with a brain tumor that threatened the hearing in his one good ear. They tried
many treatments before attempting the brain surgery which was expected to leave him
without any hearing and rob him of his ability to be a pilot. While Mike was in the
hospital having surgery for the brain tumor, he lost his Mom, who had been hiding her
medical issues not to worry Mike. Then soon after, the sudden loss of their sweet loving
10-year old dog, Dakota. They have had many bad days but never lost faith and finally
Mike has been declared fit to fly once more. Captain Mike again has his wings!! We
wish Sheryl and Mike some much-deserved happiness.

GAMBLER’S CLASSIC LAUGHLIN TRIP, 2018
WE HAD A GREAT TRIP WITH 11 CARS MAKING THE TRIP. JOE AND SARAH WERE
SCHEDULED TO GO BUT UNFORTUNATELY JOE’S DAD BECAME ILL AND HAD TO GO
TO THE HOSPITAL THE NIGHT BEFORE WE WERE LEAVING. WE HAD AN
UNEVENTFUL TRIP STOPPING AT PEGGY SUE’S FOR LUNCH. CORVETTES OF
BAKERSFIELD HAD A NICE MEET AND GREET ON THURSDAY NIGHT WITH
D’OEUVRES AND ENTERTAINMENT.
THE NEXT DAY THEY SCHEDULED A FUN RUN TO LONDON BRIDGE IN LAKE HAVASU
BUT THE TOWN WAS SO BUSY OUR CLUB OPTED TO DRIVE BACK TO LAUGHLIN FOR
LUNCH AND GAMBLING OR R/R. THAT NIGHT WAS THEIR BIG EVENT DINNER AND
ENTERTAINMENT. OUR CLUB WAS ONE OF THE ONLY CLUBS TO DRESS IN THE EVENT
THEME OF THE PSYCHEDELIC 60’S. IT WAS SO COOL TO SEE EVERYONE FROM OUR
CLUB DRESSED IN TYE-DYE SHIRTS, PEACE NECKLACES, LOVE BEADS AND FLOWER
HEADBANDS. THERE WAS MUSIC AND DANCING AND WE FOUND OUT THAT ROGER
AND VAL CAN REALLY CUT A RUG.
THE NEXT DAY WAS THE 3-STATE POKER RUN, THE CAR SHOW, THE RAFFLE AND
THE AWARDS CEREMONY. WE DID HAVE SOME RAFFLE WINNERS BUT THE BIG
SURPRISE WAS THAT OUR CLUB RECEIVED AN AWARD FOR THE BEST CLUB
PARTICIPATION IN CORVETTES OF BAKERSFIELD’S HISTORY OF THE EVENT WITH 26
CARS ATTENDING. OUR CLUB HAS ALSO PARTICIPATED IN EVERY GAMBLER’S
CLASSIC IN IT’S 21 YEAR HISTORY AND I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT KEITH AND I HAVE
PARTICIPATED IN 20 OF THOSE 21 YEARS. WE HAD NICE MEXICAN DINNER THAT
NIGHT WITH MARGARITAS FLOWING, IT WAS A GOOD TIME.
ON SUNDAY WE MADE AN EARLY TRIP TO OATMAN, THE BURROS THAT ROAM THE
TOWN LOVED OUR APPLE-BEARING LADIES. FREIDA MADE SOME VERY SPECIAL
FRIENDS! LATER SOME OF US TOOK A NICE BOAT TRIP ON THE RIVER AND THEN
LATER WE HAD A NICE DINNER AT OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE. KEITHS’ COUSINS DORIS,
TOM AND DEANE WERE ABLE TO JOIN US FOR DINNER, THEIR FRIENDS FROM
BULLHEAD CITY JOINED US TOO.
DID I MENTION WE HAD SEVERAL WINNERS OVER THE WEEKEND BUT ONE BIG
WINNER… LYNNE WON $7500!! LUCKY GIRL!

Corvette ZR1 High Speed Recording!

The all-new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is undoubtedly one of the best track cars around in this is down
to a number of reasons, aside from just being new. Just to keep it brief, the all-new C7 ZR1 is powered
by a 6.2L V8 engine that can generate 755hp and 715ft-lbs of torque. The car also features 13 cooling
unit to ensure optimal and long-lasting performance around the track. With such a setup, the C7 ZR1
can hit 60mph in 3 seconds flat and there is also the top speed of 208MPH. Now, you can experience
all of these, at least virtually, after an early adopter of the Corvette C7 ZR1 recorded his sprint to top

2019 National Corvette Caravan
All roads lead to Bowling Green, Kentucky for the 25th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum
Frequently Asked Questions, Lodging, Parking, Select a State, Outside USA, News, Caravan Merchandise
These are all still live links you may click on for more information!
Often referred to as the world’s largest moving automotive event, the National Corvette Caravan is a
celebration of America’s Sports Car, culminating in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the anniversary
celebration of the National Corvette Museum. Hosted only once every five years. The 6th National
Corvette Caravan is slated for August 28-31, 2019. Regional caravans will form and join other
caravans as they travel across the United States to meet in Bowling Green, Kentucky for four days of
festivities at the National Corvette Museum. An event such as this requires years of planning and
coordinating. All help is appreciated! The Museum is located at I-65, exit 28 in South Central Kentucky
and is open daily, 8-5 Central Time.
We had an informative meeting with the Northern California
Corvette Caravan leader, Don Herzer, at our April CVC
Meeting. I now have 14 CVC Cars that are very interested
in going to Bowling Green, Kentucky starting on August 22,
2019. Don will stay in touch with me and I will stay in touch
with you all. I am looking into a Super 8 Motel that is right
in the middle of the Plant, Museum & Track with it’s own
parking and access. I will block 15 rooms for now and let
you know when you can make reservations - for about $120
per night. Do not call them until I give you our Group
Reservation #. Let me know by email if you want to add
your name to my list. The More the Merrier!

On wed. 5/16, 20 of our CVC members met at the Fresno Fair grounds for an informative, interesting & fun 2
hrs. of Fresno history. Our tour guide John was wonderful. We all met back at my house, after I made a wrong
turn, that took me way out of the way. Everyone else took the correct turn & beat me back to my house. There
they patiently waited for Bob & I to arrive. Everyone seemed to enjoy the lunch that was waiting for us. We all
had a great social time. Thanks so much to those members that attended. Charlotte Renna
