ORIENTAL BAND
Spring is finally here, I hope, and
things are turning green. A wonderful
time of the year.
A very successful Rajah Shrine
Circus is now over, and we can get
back to business as usual. A big tip
of the fez to Ted Werkheiser and his
crew for taking care of the novelty
distribution and transportation.
Another tip of the fez to Noble Wayne
Grumbein for providing an oasis for
the weary workers. His son Jarrett did
a fantastic job of providing number 12s when needed. Thanks
again to the Mounted Patrol for allowing us the use of their
trailer to move our goods.
The Band lost a great supporter and friend in March. Barry
Shultz, son-in-law to the late Harry Huhn and his wife Jeanne and
nephew to our President, Don Heimbecker, passed away suddenly.
Barry was always there to help hustle tickets at our Ladies Night
and was there to support the Band at different functions. Our
prayers go out to his Lady Donna and family. He will be missed.
Things are now slowing down with the Band. At the moment
we are preparing for the annual Hospital Crusade. We will be
sharing the duties with Nobles from Lehigh Shrine Club and the
Redner’s store on Lehigh Street in Allentown. Just pray for good
weather.
The Oriental Band is a fun group based in the Lehigh
Valley. We are always looking for new members. You don’t
have to be a musician. For an example of what we do there is
a video on You Tube. Just type “Rajah Oriental Band” in the
search and have at it.
For information, call John Grumbein at 610-395-6578 or jkgrumbein@aol.com
That’s all for now. I’ll have a report on the Hospital Crusade in the next issue. Keep the kids in our hospitals in your thoughts
and prayers. It’s our bottom line.
