Horror, Guns & Violence. Should I watch this or not? By Jacob, 11BD I watched a horror movie about 4 days ago. I got to sleep about 4am in the morning! I watched this movie on Netflix. I am 16 and I found the film terrifying. It was one of those new gruesome Netflix films. You can find titles easy on streaming platforms, especially on Netflix and stuff. Netflix is good, but sometimes it’s not good. It doesn’t give guidelines for people watching things. It doesn’t come up with verifying age. I don’t blame my parents, they’re great, but I blame streaming platforms who don’t put age restrictions on. They could get filters put in place so young people can’t search for 18 films. The provider should really block things we shouldn’t watch. Watch age appropriate movies/ TV shows. You could go through hell, you might think what you’re seeing on the TV is real. I did a survey around Osborne School to see who watches horror movies and gun movies. I would say to parents to check up on young people to make sure they’re watching the right thing. I don’t always watch the right thing but my advice is for not to watch these things. They will ruin your sleep!
Should pupils in KS4 be allowed outside the building at lunch-time? By Jack, 11BD People in my class 11BD say yes but then they are the pupils! I say yes - there is a shop near our school that pupils would be able to get to. I also think that this would make the pupils feel better about themselves which is important considering their situation. If pupils feel good then that may improve behaviour after lunch times because they have just done something grown up. I understand that there is danger and that is why for the first there months staff would assist them. For pupils that are unable to go outside at lunch times they will be able to do activity at school. I think this is good because it will make pupils feel that they are being treated more like young adults. Pupils will stay in groups of five and will protect each over. Pupils will be allowed their phones just in case they get into trouble and will not have to wear clothes that have the Osborne School logo, they could wear school styled clothes. What do you think?
