“From Where I Stand”
A message from your Chamber President, Mindy Moree
From Paris, Texas to Loveland, Colo.…..
it’s a great place to hang your hat, and
from where I stand, I have the best view
in town! As I am told, the Loveland
Chamber of Commerce was founded
in 1902 and this year will mark the 110year
celebration for the “driving force
of business” in Loveland. This really is
a monumental achievement especially
through all the peaks and valleys that
businesses and our chamber community
have experienced with the nation’s
economy. Our mission is to increase the
economic well-being of the businesses
and citizens in the community. In other
words we want to make Loveland a great
place to live, work and play!
The chamber board of directors along with
staff will be finalizing a strategic plan that
implements new value-added programs,
a shop local campaign and non-dues
revenue streams that will benefit you,
our investors. We will work diligently to
maintain and build relationships with
all civic, governmental and communitybased
organizations to help foster growth
plans and enhance the economic climate
Stir Loveland, Loveland’s only young
professionals group and a program of
the Loveland Chamber of Commerce,
has launched a corporate membership
option. Area businesses can now register
up to four young professionals under
one membership, saving themselves and
their employees’ money. The corporate
membership is available only to current
Loveland Chamber of Commerce
investors, is $300 annually and includes
all of the same benefits as an individual
Stir Loveland membership.
Loveland is home to a growing mix of
young professional entrepreneurs and
employees through local businesses. In
addition, local economic development
and business retention efforts have made
Loveland a hot spot for businesses that
attract quality young workers. This, as well
as feedback from current Stir Loveland
members and Loveland Chamber of
Commerce investors, was a key factor to
this new membership offering.

Loveland has welcomed a diversified
membership base with a variety of local
young professionals coming together
to network, grow business and build
connections,” said John Metcalf, 2012

get more involved. We see Loveland as

young professionals in our area coming
together through Stir, our community can

2012 Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival
Loveland’s largest community festival is back as the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Engaging
Loveland, brings the 2012 Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival back to downtown. On Aug. 24-25, 2012 at Fairgrounds
Park in Downtown Loveland, the community is invited to this fun summer festival celebrating Loveland, its agricultural
roots and good ol’ fashioned fun.

Corn Roast Parade Applications Now Available
The deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 3, 2012. Applicants are eligible for an earlybird
discount of $10 per entry if submitted by July 6. Applications received after Aug. 3,
pending availability, will be charged a $25 late fee.
The annual Corn Roast Festival parade allows community-minded businesses, clubs, and
organizations a chance to participate and gain visibility through this harvest celebration
unique to Loveland. Available entry spaces for the parade are limited by the total length
of the parade (6,200 feet). Parade space is popular and fills quickly. Space is filled on first
come, first served basis. Applications must include accurate length, width and height of
the vehicle, float and/or entry, proof of insurance and liability waivers for all participating
riders. Space will not be held for incomplete applications. First, second and third place titles will be awarded to the
entries in each category that best fit the event theme, ‘Smiling from Ear to Ear.”
The 2012 Corn Roast Festival parade begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012. Questions on the application

Want a Great Teambuilding Experience? Sign Up for the Corn Roast Festival’s Corn Shucking Competition
Only 35 teams of up to seven participants will compete on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for applications
is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012. The entry fee is $150 per team.
As one of the most popular events at the annual Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival, the team slots for the Corn
Shucking Contest sell out quickly. Local businesses sign up as teams for their opportunity to take home the title. Teams
with the highest total number of ears of corn shucked in the allotted time will be recognized as first, second and third
place winners. The team with the most creative corn shucking T-shirt design will also be awarded a prize.The Corn
Shucking Contest is one of the first big events in the annual Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival and provides local
businesses with a great exercise for team building and group participation.
The Corn Roast Festival is slated for August 24-25, 2012 and is one of Loveland’s largest community festivals. More
