Glenbrooks to destroy Class of<br />
‘12 temporary records June 30<br />
In accordance with Illinois<br />
statute, Glenbrook North and<br />
Glenbrook South High Schools<br />
will destroy temporary records<br />
for the class of 2012 graduates,<br />
on June 30, 2018. Students who<br />
have graduated, transferred,<br />
or withdrawn from GBN and<br />
would like to take possession of<br />
their temporary records may do<br />
so by contacting their school’s<br />
registrar prior to June 30, in<br />
writing. Please mail requests to<br />

Only temporary records will be<br />

Northbrook’s Astellas<br />
appoints new vice<br />
president<br />
Astellas appointed Nahrin<br />
Marino to vice president,<br />
head of Ethics and<br />
Compliance, Americas effective<br />
July 15.<br />
Previously, Marino<br />
served as deputy general<br />
counsel, regulatory for Astellas.<br />

highest sense of ethics and<br />
integrity, which will enable<br />
our team to advance our<br />

receive elite financial<br />
award<br />
The National Association<br />
of Insurance and Financial<br />
Advisors (NAIFA)<br />
is proud to announce Reginald<br />
N. Rabjohns as the recipient<br />
of the 77th annual<br />
John Newton<br />
Russell<br />
Memorial<br />
Award. The<br />
award is the<br />
industry’s<br />
highest recognition<br />
of Rabjohns<br />
those who<br />
exemplify the standard of<br />
commitment to the life insurance<br />
industry. Rabjohns<br />
will receive the award at<br />
NAIFA’s Performance +<br />
Purpose Conference in<br />
San Antonio, Texas this<br />
September.<br />
“Reginald’s high regard<br />
as an industry speaker and<br />
his dedicated service to<br />
numerous industry organizations<br />
demonstrate his<br />
strong commitment to our<br />
industry and to helping<br />
others achieve professional<br />
success,” said Juli Mc-<br />
Neely, chair of the 2018<br />
award committee. “His exemplary<br />
passion and dedication<br />
make him a worthy<br />
recipient of the 2018 John<br />
Newton Russell Memorial<br />
Award.”<br />
Rabjohns is currently<br />
managing partner at the<br />
Rabjohns Financial Group,<br />
located at 1622 Willow<br />
Road in Northfield. He<br />
qualified for MDRT during<br />
his first full production<br />
year. At age 27, he became<br />
the youngest MDRT Life<br />
Member. He became a<br />
trustee of MDRT and eventually<br />
became president of<br />
the association in 1999. He<br />
is an international speaker<br />
and has addressed financial<br />
professionals and institutions,<br />
regulators and<br />
associations in 42 states<br />
and 25 countries.<br />
Rabjohns’ service to the<br />
industry extends to NAIFA,<br />
where he has been a member<br />
for almost 50 years.<br />
He has served on various<br />
committees for the association<br />
and as trustee and<br />
president of NAIFA-Chicago.<br />
He has also served<br />
as president of the Chicago<br />
Chapter of GAMA<br />
and the Chicago Society of<br />
Financial Services Professionals.<br />
In 2008, Rabjohns<br />
received the Huebner Gold<br />
Medal from The American<br />
College, the institution’s<br />
highest honor. He has also<br />
received the Distinguished<br />
Service Award from NAI-<br />
FA-Chicago and the Huebner<br />
Scholar Award from the<br />
Chicago Chapter of CLU<br />
and ChFC. He is a member<br />
of the Hall of Fame for<br />
both The American College<br />
and the State Mutual/All<br />
America.<br />
Rabjohns’ civic involvement<br />
includes service to<br />
numerous nonprofit organizations,<br />
including the Misericordia<br />
Heart of Mercy<br />
Home, the Union League<br />
Club of Chicago and the<br />
Lutheran Church of the Ascension<br />

For the sixth straight<br />
year, 22nd Century Media<br />
is a national awardwinner.<br />
The National Newspaper<br />
Association recognized<br />
22nd Century Media,<br />
the parent company<br />
of The Northbrook Tower,<br />
with seven awards for<br />
editorial excellence in its<br />
annual Better Newspaper<br />
Contest.<br />
The competition, which<br />
is judged by third-party<br />
media professionals,<br />
welcomed 1,405 entries<br />
from 115 outlets across<br />
38 states, and the winners<br />
will be recognized at an<br />
awards breakfast Sept. 29<br />
in Norfolk, Va.<br />
“Our journalists work<br />
hard to provide unmatched<br />
coverage of their communities,<br />
and they make us<br />
proud every day,” Publisher<br />
Joe Coughlin said. “Receiving<br />
recognition like<br />
this, especially from your<br />
peers, is an added bonus.”<br />

picked up one award each.<br />

stories from The Patriot<br />
were recognized.<br />

asking his dying father to<br />

year was recognized for<br />
a charming photo of two<br />
Spider-mans facing off at<br />
the local library.<br />
Also a national champion,<br />
again, is the Malibu<br />
Surfide News, which won<br />
its third top national prize<br />
in the last two years. This<br />
time, photographer Suzy<br />
Demeter’s photo from a<br />
dance exhibition earned<br />
top honors in the Best Feature<br />
photo category.<br />
Over 11 years of competitions,<br />
22nd Century<br />
Media publications have<br />
earned 175 regional and<br />
national awards for editorial<br />
excellence, including<br />
more than 30 first-place<br />
honors.<br />
The Northbrook Tower<br />
has won five awards from<br />
the National Newspaper<br />
Association since its inception.
