A schedule combining studies and activities:
• 3.5 hours of French language lessons every morning
taught by competent teachers who are accredited
by Languages Canada
• 1.5 hours of workshops to suit every taste in

• 2 hours of free and varying activities offered at the end of
the afternoon or in the evening

of Vancouver in November 2017, the establishment placed
first in Eastern Quebec among all other educational
institutions in the past 5 years in the province of Quebec
A pass rate of 98.6% and a general average of 80.5% in
the Ministry of Education exams

A TRADITION DATING
BACK TO 1827!
1827: Construction starts on the 5th oldest French-speaking
school in North America.
1829: The Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière opens.
1894: Running water installed at the Collège.
1915 : Electricity is installed.
1920: A fire destroys part of the building.
1923: Renovations are finished.
1945: Empress Zita of Austria visits the Collège.
1964: The first female students arrive at the Collège, studying
Belletristic Literature.
1965 – 1971: American Peace Corps groups are welcomed for
French language immersion.
1982 – 1995: More than 2000 students from George Brown
College in Toronto arrive for French language
immersion.
1995: Opening of the Collège Music School, now known under
the name of École Destroismaisons.
1995: The talent show Secondaire en spectacle is created by
one of the Collège’s student; an event which now showcases
student talent from over 260 schools throughout
the province.
2001: The first students in the Explore program arrive for a
French language immersion program offered by the
Campus St-Jean of the University of Alberta.
2004: Arrival of the first long-stay international students
undertaking a French language immersion program.
2008: The Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière appears on
the cover page of the reputed magazine L’actualité
having placed first amongst all private schools in Quebec
for its impact on the success of its students.
2012: Gradual introduction of the obligatory use of an I-pad
for all students at the Collège.
2014: The Collège takes first place in Eastern Quebec, statistics
and findings compiled by the Fraser Institute of Vancouver.
2017: 1 7 th edition of the Explore French language immersion
program.
