• Story Spinners Writing Club - Thursday, July 19th, 5:30-8 PM, Room
2C. This month’s topic will be “Crafting a Synopsis.” From beginning
blogger to published novelist, writers of all genres and experience levels
are welcome to write, share, learn, support, network and critique each
other’s work. Writing prompts, brainteasers and brief exercises will be
available to ignite the imaginations of any and all wordsmiths who wish
to hone their craft. This program is recommended for adults and teens
aged 14 and up.
• SEA-SHELL-MOBILE CLASS - Saturday, July 21st, 10:30 AM, Room 2C.
In this family craft activity, learn how to make a mobile using a branch,
sea shells and some fishing line. Materials will be provided courtesy of
the Friends of the George Memorial Library.
• Book Break - Thursday, July 19th, at 12 Noon, Room 2C. The book to
be discussed is Best Boy, a novel written by Eli Gottlieb. Those attending
may bring a lunch.
• HEAVY INKS GRAPHIC NOVEL BOOK CLUB - Saturday, July 21st, 11 AM,
Room 2B. Readers of all ages who enjoy illustrated novels and comic
books are invited to join this book club specifically for graphic-novel
enthusiasts. Readers are invited to talk about Ant-Man: Second-Chance
Man, written by Nick Spenser and illustrated by Ramon Rosanas and
Jordan Boyd.
• ESL Conversation Circles - Wednesdays at 10 AM, Learning Lab, presented
in English. Program for individuals of all nationalities who would
like a place to practice their English language and conversation skills.
The “Conversation Circles” will provide an opportunity for non-English-speaking
people to gather in a relaxed setting and discuss topics
of their own choosing while practicing their English skills.

• YA: BOARD-GAME DAY - Friday, July 6th, 2 PM, Room 2C. Teens in grades
9-12 who enjoy the challenge, excitement and competition of playing
table-top games or card games are invited to test their skills against one
another at this special event for young adults entering high school in the
fall. A selection of games will be on hand, but those attending the event
are welcome to bring their own favorite games as well.
• Young Adult Book Club - Wednesday, July 11th, 4 PM, Room 2B. Teen
readers will have the opportunity to meet with others who share the
same love for great books and have a lively discussion on the reasons
a book or its characters were liked or disliked. This month, readers will
talk about The Rest of Us Just Live Here, written by Patrick Ness.
• YA Art Hour - Fridays, Fridays, July 13th and 27th, 2 PM, Room 2C. Teens
in grades 9-12 can explore their inner artist and discover new ways to
express themselves!
