The White House will host the first <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> Summit, Tuesday, Oct. 5, to highlight the<br />

importance of community colleges to students and the economy. Jill Biden, wife of Vice President<br />

Joe Biden, is seeking community college success stories. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to<br />

Join the “<strong>Atlantic</strong> <strong>Cape</strong> All-Stars” for a 3-mile walk along the Ocean City boardwalk for Operation First<br />

Response Walk for the Wounded, 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Music Pier in Ocean City. For event<br />

Continuing Education Offers Financial Workshops this Fall<br />

A proactive approach to managing personal finances is more important than ever in today’s uncertain<br />

economy. Financial workshops at <strong>Atlantic</strong> <strong>Cape</strong> give practical advice, from making smart investments to<br />

retirement planning.<br />

Retirement Planning Today offers practical advice on how to manage investment risks, how to save<br />

money on taxes and the savings needed today to retire comfortably in the future. Classes are<br />

6:30-9:30 p.m., two Wednesdays, starting Oct. 20, at the Mays Landing Campus, or 9 a.m.-noon, two<br />

Saturdays, beginning Oct. 23, at CMCC.<br />

The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Money Matters outlines strategies and solutions for overcoming financial<br />

pitfalls and covers the psychological aspects of personal management, planning and decision-making. The<br />

class is at 6-8 p.m., four Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 28, at CMCC.<br />
