Daughtrey’s Sizzle! is a lively percussion piece.<br />

Licht und Liebe (Light and Love), D352, a duet<br />

for tenor and soprano, is one of the only two<br />

duets that Schubert wrote.<br />

Mendelssohn – Die Nachtigall from Sechs<br />

Lieder, Op. 59 No. 4<br />

Hensel – Morgengruss from Gartenlieder,<br />

Op. 3 No. 4<br />

Carl Orff - Carmina Burana<br />

Nacht und Träume (Night and Dreams), D827,<br />

a song for baritone, is rated as one of<br />

Schubert’s most beautiful songs.<br />

Die Nachtigall (The Nightingale) and<br />

Morgengruss (Morning Greeting), are two<br />

delightful songs for choir by Felix<br />

Mendelssohn and his sister, Fanny Hensel.<br />

The ever-popular Carmina Burana is a scenic<br />

cantata composed by Carl Orff in 1935 and<br />

1936, based on 24 poems from the collection<br />

(discovered in a Bavarian monastery in 1803)<br />

of pieces by 12th and 13th century<br />

wandering students, written variously in Latin<br />

verse, Middle High German and Old<br />

Provençal. It is full of life and vitality, anger,<br />

splendidly earthy desires, revolt against the<br />

rigidity of medieval times, parody and lusty<br />

enjoyment of life.<br />
