Road Scribes Of America Non territorial The road is our home Taking on the miles And writing our Biker Poems An eclectic group of Bikers Eccentric some are called We are on a mission Trying to spread the word In books, magazines, and newspapers You'll read what's on our minds And out there on the highway Is where we're likely to be found Our rides are our pen The road is our page Every mile a stanza And gas is our ink © Sorez Road Scribes Of America The Simple Life A decent job to pay the bills A ride to call my own A righteous ol' lady waiting for me Whenever I get home An open road with cagers few On a brisk cold sunny day An open door with welcoming arms And a warm embrace A moonlit highway A fresh paved road Another gear up on the throttle The simple life is the one I live As long as there's roads to be traveled © Sorez The Scribe RSOA Who Turns Out The Light? Smell the tar and asphalt On which the wheels of progress roll Roaming trail of concrete Where highway’s ribbons flow We could leave a better place For the future of our young Instead we leave them desolation And progress never done. There are always prophets They come from time to time To guide us to a resting place That we alone can’t find. We see the world in parables In ways that it might be Without an understanding Of the things, that set us free Is there such a thing as afterlife? In visions we can’t see Do the visions shade salvation? Will the truth now set us free? We have pockets full of empty And a suitcase full of dreams With ambitions under lock and key To protect us from ourselves, We are strangers in the universe Condemned by wrong and right Searching through the shadows In the darkness of the night, When there is no more souls to leave a ghost town Who then, turns out the light?
