Beach party for pups this<br />
weekend at <strong>TP</strong>’s dog park<br />

Celebrate the dog days of summer at the<br />
Canine Campus Dog Park with a Beach<br />
“PAW-ty” for the pooches on Saturday, July<br />
7. The free event goes from 10 a.m. to 12<br />
p.m. and is open to the public. A dog park<br />
membership is not required. Activities are<br />
planned to include splash pools for cooling<br />
off, a pet bandana decorating station and<br />
more. The party will also provide great opportunities<br />
to grab a selfie for submission<br />
in the #<strong>TP</strong>PDsliceofsummerFUN Facebook<br />
contest.<br />
In order to ensure the safety of all people<br />
and animals in attendance, Tinley Park-Park<br />
District reserves the right to ask owners of<br />
dogs that threaten or show aggression toward<br />
other dogs and/or owners to leave the event.<br />
Canine Campus Dog Park, a member-only<br />
facility of the Tinley Park-Park District, is<br />
located at 18200 84th Avenue. Further information<br />

The 2018 “Treasured Family Musicals” themed Benches on the Avenue are out now<br />
through October along Oak Park Avenue from Subway Restaurant to 174th Street.<br />

Benches on the Avenue public<br />
art program during intermission<br />
at the Saturday, July<br />
7 Music in the Plaza concert,<br />
which runs from 7 to 10 p.m.<br />
in Zabrocki Plaza and features<br />
music from Five Guys<br />
Named Moe.<br />
This year’s benches are<br />
based on the theme “Treasured<br />
Family Musicals” and<br />
feature some of the most<br />
classic musicals of both<br />
stage and screen, including<br />
“Shrek,” “High School<br />
Musical,” “Little Shop of<br />
Horrors,” “Cinderella” and<br />
many more.<br />
Judging categories include<br />
Most Creative, Best<br />
First-Time Participant,<br />
Best Portrayal of a Theme,<br />
Best Three-Dimensional,<br />
Best Use of Materials, Best<br />
Group/Family Project and<br />
Judges’ Choice. Judges this<br />
year include Cindy DePinto-Dawud<br />
(Central Middle<br />
School), Kalie Jordan (Grissom<br />
Middle School), Adam<br />
Malak (Faith United Presbyterian<br />
Church), Jeanne Concannon<br />
(Tinley Park Public<br />
Library) and Maureen Cipolla<br />
(Tinley Park Chamber<br />
of Commerce).<br />
Fans will also be able to<br />
meet the minds behind this<br />
year’s benches from 6:30 to<br />
7:30 p.m. inside a tent near<br />
the stage. Discover the stories<br />
behind each bench and<br />
get to know the talented artists<br />
who created them.
