high speed bagging machine<br />
from Italian manufacturer<br />
PFM, able to provide fast<br />
changeover between up to<br />
seven bag styles.<br />
The new Solaris Evo brings<br />
continuous motion operation<br />
into a field dominated up to<br />
now by slower intermittent<br />
machinery, allowing stand-up<br />
pouches with a zipper<br />
reclosure to be produced at<br />
speeds up to 100 a minute.<br />

incorporates two alternative<br />
film transport paths, allowing<br />
standard pillow packs,<br />
four-side seal PFM Steelo<br />
bags and Doy style bags to be<br />
produced without the usual<br />

provides a constant sealing<br />
time, irrespective of overall<br />
machine speed.<br />
In particular, Bolton<br />
expects the new machine to<br />
boost interest in PFM Steelo<br />
bags, on which the four<br />
corners are heat-sealed to<br />
improve both rigidity and<br />
appearance to the point where<br />
powdered products such<br />
as desserts can be packed<br />
without a carton.<br />
“Volume for volume, the<br />
Steelo bags can occupy<br />
some 10-14% less space than<br />
standard pillow packs, saving<br />
both transit packaging cost<br />
and supermarket shelf space,”<br />
