Grinder delivers
consistent mince
As well as grinders, Laska also manufactures a range of other processing kit
Multivac UK has
installed a Laska
super grinder into the
Addo Food Group enabling
the business to produce a
consistent, high-quality
minced meat in different
sizes for its chilled savoury
products. It utilises both fresh
and frozen types of meat.
The company produces
sausage rolls, pork pies,
hot pies, savoury eggs,
slices, and quiche across six
manufacturing sites throughout
the UK and required a new
machine to mince frozen and
fresh meats to a high quality.
The machine needed to
ensure product consistency,
organoleptic delivery and
flexibility of the meats.
When Processing Product
Specialist at Multivac UK Liam
Smith visited the Spalding
Bakery manufacturing site,
he discovered the number one
consideration for the machine
was enhancing product
quality. The machine selected
was therefore the Laska WWB
200 super grinder.
This grinder has a hopper
size of 550 litres and a 200mm
grinding hole plate diameter.
The unit offered the Addo
Food Group the opportunity
to increase the quality of the
product and also the ability to
grind meat down to 3mm from
a frozen block at -25deg C in
one process.
double seal system
Another key feature of the unit
is the design of the double
sealing system, which enables
separation of product from
mechanical parts, even in
the event of excessive wear
or mechanical failure.
This results in reduced risk
of contamination.
The quality within the
Laska system is also vastly
improved due to the angular
feed and working system, says
Multivac. The angular design
ensures only the optimum
amount is presented to the
grind plates at any time to
ensure maximum quality
and minimum product stress
and heat rise. These features
were key to the success of
the trial and ultimately,
the machine purchase for
Addo Food Group.
