Speak like a Casino Pro!<br />
The lingo used inside of casinos may sound a little like a language<br />
of its own. Familiarizing yourself with the words used<br />
on the casino floor will make your gambling experience more<br />
memorable – and make you sound like a professional.<br />
Bluff: in a card game, raising a weak or worthless hand in an attempt<br />
to drive other players out of the game.<br />
Comps: complimentary gifts or points given to players when they<br />
play more at that casino.<br />
Flush: A hand in poker that consists of five cards of the same suit.<br />
Full House: A poker hand made up of a three of a kind along with a<br />
pair.<br />
Hit: in Blackjack, the term used to get another card from the dealer<br />
to add to your hand.<br />
Pit Boss: a person who supervises all the games and casino personnel<br />
in an assigned area; checking for cheating, settling disputes and<br />
handing out the comps.<br />
Point: A terms in craps for the starting number for the craps game<br />
that the player must roll again before that player sevens out.<br />
Push: A term used when the dealer and a player have the same<br />
hand; no money changes hands.<br />
Straight: A poker hand consisting of five cards in consecutive order.<br />
