Aims of the course
The MBA Information Technology is the ideal qualification for individuals wishing to progress to
strategic level in an IT-oriented organisation. It aims to provide a rigorous, intellectually demanding
and vocationally orientated programme of study in general management, focused on
opportunities for the strategic use of information technology. The course provides you with the
range of competencies you need to succeed as a manager within an IT-focused organisation, and
will help you make a significant contribution in the drive to develop strategic information systems.

Stage Two relates the material of Stage One to major strategic issues.
Stage Two units are:
● Comparative Management
● Management of Change and Innovation
● Managing Strategic IS Development
● Managing E-Business Technology
● Research Methods B
● Dissertation
Assessment
Typical assessment includes group reports, group presentations, individual reports and
examinations. Each unit is assessed separately and you must pass every unit to obtain the
award.You are also required to complete a 15,000 word dissertation on a topic related to
the strategic use of information systems.
Career opportunities
The course is an excellent foundation for personal career progression. Students can also apply
for a transfer to MPhil/PhD.
Entry requirements
The MBA Information Technology course is designed for non-business graduates and therefore
assumes no prior academic knowledge of business and management. All applicants must offer
evidence of academic ability, motivation and potential; this may include relevant work
experience, prior completion of a suitable course, or completing diagnostic and exemption
exercises or project work. Applicants will normally be interviewed.
The standard entry qualification is an honours degree with appropriate IT content. Nonstandard
entry may be possible for those with other qualifications who can demonstrate
significant relevant work experience and responsibility.

Part-time (EU) (fees for first year based on completing in 2 years) £4,140
Part-time (non-EU) (fees for first year based on completing in 2 years): £4,500
