Pam Light + John Duffy
An office grown from human needs
Shifts in workplace design can often happen
to people, not for people. Designers Pam
Light and John Duffy noticed that the advent
of the open office, in particular, has forced
many people into environments that fail to
meet their needs.
Pam and John imagined places where
furniture supported the way people
work, rather than dictating it. Through
conversations and sketches, they created
Staks—a design vocabulary of furniture
that fosters a personal and natural habitat,
includes inspiring textures and patterns,
and scales flexibly to individual needs.
