rockin’ with sold-out concert

funds for continued
support of local
children in need

On Friday, July 6, Topa Mountain
Winery hosted Safety Harbor
Kids 11th annual Concert Fundraiser
featuring Paul Barrere,
Fred Tackett and Kenny Gradney
of the rock band Little Feat with
Grammy winning drummer, Tony
Braunagel.
Over the years, the Tri-County
based charity has been supported
by musicians including Defender
of the British Empire, Peter Asher,
singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt,
Jackson Browne, Albert Lee, the
late Tom Petty and others.
The evening, emceed by Jaime
Fleming, began with a beautiful
duet of the national Anthem by
Ausante Fleming. Entertainment
continued with the exotic Kali
Sundari performing a mid-eastern
belly dance followed by music by
Miles Tackett & The Three Times.
Appetizers and dinner were provided
by natural foods store
Rainbow Bridge, with drinks by
Topa Mountain Winery, Hint Water,
Charles & Company Tea and
Longshot Mobile Expresso Bar.

Coffee shop branches out
Caffe Luxxe, which has a business
in Malibu, has launched its
first culinary collaboration.
The coffee shop partnered
with Charcoal Venice on a coffee
rub that will be sold for $18 at
each business as well as online.

donated by ET actress Dee Wallace,
local band Shakey Feelin’
took the stage while the Glo Party
Dancers mesmerized the crowd.
After a live auction of a guitar
donated by The Guitar Center and
autographed by rock legend, The
Doors guitarist Robby Krieger,
the boys from Little Feat took
the stage performing favorites
including “Dixie Chicken” and
“Willin”.
The sold-out event was covered
by Tracy Lehr and KEYT Channel
3 news and was supported
by community leaders and local
businesses including Garnett Security,
the Su Nido Inn and Casa
Ojai Inn, Bamboo Creek Spa,
Ojai Greens, Ojai Business Center,
GPS Security, Sespe Creek,
Vitality Fitness, Ojai Valley Inn,
Caldwell Banker, Chisum’s Floor
Covering, Frameworks of Ojai
and Dutch’s Cool Buzz Party Bus.
Safety Harbor Kids is a 501c3
nonprofit with the mission to enrich
the lives of orphans, foster
and homeless children through
education in the areas of college,
career, music, the arts and
personal growth. The charity has
been serving teen foster children
in Ojai, Ventura and the greater
Los Angeles area since 2007. For
