Representing the JCCGW with Pride<br />
This summer, Team Greater Washington traveled to Israel; Springfield,<br />
Massachusetts; <strong>an</strong>d Philadelphia, Pennsylv<strong>an</strong>ia to participate in the JCC Maccabi<br />
Games, <strong>an</strong> Olympics-style event for Jewish youth between the ages of 13 <strong>an</strong>d<br />
16. Although athletic competition is the focus, the Games promote community service<br />
involvement, sportsm<strong>an</strong>ship <strong>an</strong>d religious pride. The enthusiasm <strong>an</strong>d excitement that<br />
the Games generate make it a me<strong>an</strong>ingful <strong>an</strong>d memorable experience for <strong>all</strong> who are<br />
involved, from the athletes <strong>an</strong>d volunteers to the coaches <strong>an</strong>d host families. To find out<br />

will offer FREE individual running<br />
assessments for JCCGW members.<br />
Particip<strong>an</strong>ts will receive <strong>an</strong> individual<br />
evaluation of their running style, as well<br />
as advice about improving speed without<br />
causing injury, footwear, strengthening<br />
<strong>an</strong>d stretching, <strong>all</strong> tailored to each runner’s<br />
individual needs. Those interested in<br />
participating must sign up for a time slot<br />

Physical<br />
Therapy<br />
ProAction Physical Therapy is now offering<br />
aquatic physical therapy, a specialized<br />
service with limited availability in the<br />
DC area, at the JCCGW. This form of<br />
therapy is <strong>an</strong> excellent method of treating<br />
numerous conditions <strong>an</strong>d injuries—such<br />
as back pain, arthritis, bal<strong>an</strong>ce difficulties,<br />
chronic pain, neurological disorders,<br />
fibromyalgia, <strong>an</strong>d for those who have<br />
undergone surgical procedures such as<br />
total joint replacements—for people who<br />
c<strong>an</strong>not tolerate the usual treatment on<br />
l<strong>an</strong>d.<br />
