CRESSAGE
In late May members and guests spent a very enjoyable evening at Ruthall Manor Ditton Priors by the kind
invitation of Mr and Mrs Clarke. It was a beautiful sunny evening and everyone enjoyed wandering around
the various small individual gardens, interlinked by paths and grassed areas all leading to the old horse-pond
surrounded by striking irises and other water loving plants. Gerald and Lynda Clarke have created a beautiful
garden over many years (Lynda herself has planted every single tree in the 50+ years she has lived at Ruthall
Manor) and was more than happy to answer questions showing not only her exceptional horticultural
knowledge but her joy in being able to pass it on to her guests. Ruthall Manor can be found on the NGS site
with photographs, directions and days of opening throughout the spring and summer. The evening ended in
the traditional way with refreshments and a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Clarke for hosting such a splendid
evening at their home.
