resident Danny is a retired Police Commissioned
Officer. He bowed out of
the service in 2010 after more than 37
years in the active service, first in the defunct
Philippine Constabulary and later on, in
the Philippine National Police. He is happily
married to the former Juliet Tarectecan of
Malaybalay. The couple raised four kids: Earl
Daniel, Nadyne Astrid, Julalee Mae and
Jaydee who have all grown up and are raising
their own families. In addition to the
brood, the family is blessed with eight lovable
grandchildren.
He was born and raised in the province of
Cagayan in Northern Luzon where he took up
and hurdled his elementary and high school
courses, together with his three sibling, Gilbert,
Gerry and Sonie.
After a two year stint as an Engineering student
of UP Diliman, he endeavored to try his
luck with the Uniformed Services where he
was accepted to the Philippine Military Academy
in April 1973. He graduated from the
Academy in 1977 and was appointed as a
Commissioned Officer of the then Philippine
Constabulary.
His first job as an Officer brought him to a
number of places in the island of Mindanao,
actively involved in peacekeeping operations.
There he met his lovely wife and started
raising a family together.
In 1982, he was called in to the PMA in Baguio
city to serve his Alma Mater as an instructor
and Tactical Officer. This time, his
job involved the training and disciplining of
cadets to become future leaders and shapers
of the nation’s history.
In 1987, he was recalled to the field where
he participated in the peacekeeping operations
in the Cagayan Valley region. Five
years later, he transferred to the Central
Luzon plains where he was exposed to police
work in the field as an operator and in
the office as a Staff Officer. After serving
Central Luzon for almost ten years, he set
foot at Camp Crame the very heart of the
Police organization. There he helped make
out plans and programs to serve as operating
guidelines for our police personnel and
improve police services.
Finally, in 2005, he returned to Mindanao
where he started. He served in Northern
Mindanao up the time he retired compulsorily
in May, 2010.
President Danny is now actively involved in
a company based in the city that provides
private security services. He is likewise into
farming as he tills a piece of farmland in the
province of Bukidnon. But what keeps him
up and about is keeping an eye and caring
for his eight grandchildren who are fast
growing up.
He joined the Rotary Club of Cagayan de
Oro a few years back and was designated a
number of Directorship positions. Lately, he
was elected the Club Vice President, until
his designation as the President – Elect of
RCCDO.
