development in school children
while fostering the cognitive
ability of the senior citizens
through Intergenerational
Learning Centre.
It is a research study project
titled “Impact of school-based
Intergenerational learning on
schoolchildren, their parents
and active ageing for native
Uttar Pradesh” by Dr Prasun
Chatterjee from Department of
Geriatric Medicine, AIIMS with
Ethical approval from AIIMS
Ethics Committee. Philosophy
of Intergenerational learning
centre is based on cognitive
development approach, offering
individualised care and
protection in educationally
friendly interactive
environment.
We are in the process of
designing intergenerational
activities to nurture
psychological, social, emotional
positivewell-being in both the
generations and will evolve
practices of holistic
development to meet
Intellectual and Eco-cultural
need on which a sound
replicable educational models
of IGLC stand and flourish.

Intergenerational learning
centre (ILC) is meant for
aspirant students from
disadvantageous sections of
the society, which would be
mentored by the senior
citizens of the same locality
to transfer knowledge,
wisdom and sharing
unconditional love & joy in
appreciative, receptive and
expressive atmosphere. We
believe in respecting the
uniqueness and recognizing
the potential of every child
to express freely and be as
kids want to be.
