Background Aging India Healthy Healthy Aging India (HAI), a not for profit organization, registered under the Indian Societies Act, 1860. It was conceptualized and initiated by its Founder President, Dr Prasun Chatterjee, a dynamic young Geriatrician from All India Institute of Medical Science, (AIIMS) along with esteemed personalities from multiple walks of life. Members include Lawyer Smt. Rajashree Sharma, as the President, noted Sportsman and Arjuna Awardee Shri Mahinderlal as the Vice President, retired IITian Shri H.S Sharma as the Secretary, journalist Shri Harsh Vardhan Ojha as the Treasurer, Shri Ramesh Pandita as the General Secretary. The Executive Committee comprises of Abhijit Ganguly, S.S. Rudra, Prabhat Jha, Dr.Punam Chatterjee, and Gaurav Chawala. The Advisory Committee includes D.P.S. Rajesh, O.S.D. to MoS, Human Resource Development (HRD), Pankaj Agarwal, Chartered Accountant, YachneetPushkarna and Manash Piyush, the official CA of Healthy Aging India (HAI). The valuable guidance of the organization’s Patrons includes Dr.Prof. A.B. Dey, Shri S.K. Srivastava, Department of Geriatric Medicine, AIIMS and to the retired IAS officials, for firmly believing that elderly people have the right to age with dignity, lead an active life, feel respected and secure and have access to health and social care. The vision of the organization is to ensure the quality of life to our ageing populace with the mission to spread the message that the concept of ageing gracefully is possible in our country with little socio-medical understanding and through intergenerational bonding. Healthy Aging India (HAI) is associated with Department of Geriatric Medicine, AIIMS as for community services in most his projects. It has conducted multiple events where young people have been sensitized to take care of their grandparents and other elderly persons through various preventive methodologies like vaccination, lifestyle modifications, proper and appropriate dieting, introducing simple but effective changes in the surroundings (like grab bar and antiskid tiles in toilets etc.), brain-teasing through computer and other social medium, etc.
