Admissions of
a Juvenile Court
Judge
Prisons are not effective in redirecting
adults into crime free lives. Children are
not small adults. So why think that a children’s
prison would be any more effective in
remolding a delinquent child into a beneficial
member of our society.
On August 16,
from 7:00-9:00
pm at the Interfaith
Café (South
County Civic Center,
16700 Jog Rd,
Delray Beach),
Judge Ronald Alvarez
will speak
about his experiences
with youth
and prisons while
he was on the bench in the juvenile division
of the circuit court. He and his wife, Elaine,
were leaders in establishing the Children’s
Services Council of Palm Beach County. It
continues to impact thousands of children
and families in our community every day.
He has been a champion for children in the
courtroom and the community giving the
most at-risk children a voice, and a chance.
Judge Alvarez had been honored for his
service by many organizations including
the Bar Association, Guardian Ad Litem,
and more. He is a known advocate in the
community for children’s welfare and is
a frequent speaker and lecturer on the
subject of children and youth in the justice
system.
