Danforth Metalcraft was founded on the principles derived from three 

generations of craftsmen doing what they loved. We are firm believers 

in doing things "old school," both in the craftsmanship of our work and 

the running of our company. 

Our company was founded in 2018 by Jason and Brian Danforth. After 

many years of forming the identity for the company, the opportunity 

arose to put our plan into action and we never looked back. 

We are combining years of experience in the grille, retail display design, 

and aerospace industry to streamline production and provide innovative 

and unique designs to our customer base. The strict quality standards of 

aerospace combined with the eye-catching appeal of retail display gives 

us a unique strength not otherwise seen in the industry.

Linear bar grilles 

Wall, floor, ceiling, and everywhere between, our linear bar grilles will 

fit in as the perfect register. Replace old or mundane grilles with a customized 

linear bar grille to help bring out the beauty within the room. 

And since these are made to order, we can fulfill any requirement set 

by our customer, be it an access door to allow access to controls to 

the grille being mitered to fit inside or around a corner. 

Our linear bar grilles are offered with various core styles and frame 

packages so any install style can be accommodated. Fabricated in 

aluminum, brass, bronze, and stainless steel and finished with a satin, 

mirror polish, powder coat in any standard or custom color, or any other 

finished look, our architectural grilles can fit into any aesthetic.

Frame styles 

All frame styles can be customized to fit your exact requirements 

A-Frame 

For a clean look and increased rigidity, the A- 

Frame is an excellent choice. The 1/8” border 

creates a neatly contained appearance for the 

grille’s core while the ¾” bottom return adds 

support. To maintain the standard ¾” depth 

offered by most grilles, the core is trimmed an 

extra 1/8” so it fits snug within the recessed 

frame. 

B-Frame 

For a bold look or to hide any rough cuts of an 

opening, the B-frame is a perfect choice. Containing 

a ¾” flange on the face, it can conceal 

minor imperfections around the opening the 

grille is being inserted into. 

C-Frame 

Combining the benefits of the A and B frames, 

the C-Frame offers a bold appearance which 

conceals adjacent imperfections along with 

added support to the core. Unlike the other 

grilles, the C-Frame comes standard with a 

7/8” depth. 

D-Frame 

Also known as a ‘Band Frame’, the D-Frame 

offers a clean appearance and fits in well for a 

minimalistic style. The 1/8” border creates a 

neatly contained look for the face of the grille 

while allowing uninhibited air flow through the 

core. 


Core mounting styles 

To accommodate various accessibility applications, we offer three options as to how the 

core of the grille is mounted within a provided frame. The most typical version is to have 

the frame welded to the core so that the grille is of one solid construction. Another style is 

leaving the core loose within the frame allows for easy removal in case access behind the 

grille is required. Additionally we offer the core to be loose from the frame but with tabs 

welded within both structures so they can be mechanically fastened together. This style 

offers increased accessibility without limiting the grille’s potential positioning of installation. 

Welded to Frame 

• Core is weld locked to the frame 

• Permanently secured so grille can be installed 

anywhere 

• Cannot access any control panel or anything 

else behind the grille without removing 

the entire grille 

Loose in Frame 

• Core can be removed by hand 

• Held by Gravity only, so can only be 

mounted on the top surface of a fixture or 

as a floor register 

• Allows access to controls or anything else 

behind the grille 

Mechanically Fastened 

• Core removal requires a screwdriver 

• Held in securely so installation positioning 

remains unrestricted 

• Allows access to control or anything else 

behind the grille 


Installation styles 

#01: Standard Core-only Grille that simply drops into 

the open space of mill-work, sheet rock, etc. A ridge is 

required for the grille to rest on. Also known as a “Dropin” 

style of grille. 

#02: Core-Only grille with mounting tabs to facilitate 

the use of screws to securely fasten the grille in place. 

#03: A-Frame grille that drops into the open space of 

mill-work, sheet-rock, etc. A ridge is required for the grille 

to rest on. This “drop-in” style of grille adds a frame 

around the core to give it a squared off look. 

#04: A-Frame grille with mounting holes through the 

bottom lip of the frame to facilitate the use of screws to 

secure the grille in place. Blocking or a ridge within the 

millwork is required for the grille to be mounted onto. 

#05: A-Frame grille with countersunk mounting holes in 

the sidewalls of the frame to facilitate the use of screws 

to secure the grille in place. These mounting holes are 

hidden from direct view once installed. The core is loose 

or mechanically removable from the frame in order to 

gain access to the mounting locations. 

#06: B-Frame grille that drops into the open space of 

mill-work, sheet-rock, etc. Also known as a “Drop-in” 

style grille. 



#07: B-Frame grille with mounting tabs to facilitate the 

use of screws to secure the grille in place. 

#08: B-Frame grille with countersunk mounting holes 

on the face of the frame to facilitate the use of screws to 

secure the grille in place. 

#09: B-Frame grille with countersunk mounting holes in

#10: C-Frame grille that drops into the open space of 

mill-work, sheet-rock, etc. Also known as a “Drop In” 

style grille.

mount upon. 

#16: D-Frame grille with countersunk mounting holes 

in the sidewalls of the frame to facilitate the use of 

screws to secure the grille in place. These mounting 

holes are hidden from direct view once installed. The 

core is loose or mechanically removable from the frame.
