“Bagels Over Berlin” Documentary
Screening/discussion
presented Director Alan Feinberg
7:30 p.m. Imperial Room
“Bagels Over Berlin” is a captivating documentary
based on airmen who fought in the U.S. Army Air
Corps during WWII. It provides a unique perspective
of the war, offering audiences rich insights into
the experiences of Jewish men who struggled
bravely and heroically against Nazi Germany. The
story tells incredible stories about men who never
shared what they experienced with anyone, including
their families. It dispels the erroneous views
that Jews in America in the 1930’s were disinclined
to be fighters, and definitely not war heroes. And
it validates the heroic roles so many Jewish Americans
embraced as they fought to protect the
American way of life in one of the branches of service
that suffered the highest mortality rates. This
film is about brave and patriotic Jewish American
men who became WWII war heroes. It is a story
told with both poignancy and humor. Cost is $5 per
person.
