Swim Lessons - Private / Swim Private Swim Lessons Daily Y member rate: $35/session Y non-member rate: $45/session Some children learn better in one-on-one settings and private swim lessons provide just that! Swimmers receive half-hour instruction from a trained swim instructor who schedule lessons based on needs. Sign up at member service desk. Ages: 3 and up Swim Lessons - Semi Private / Swim Semi-Private Swim Lessons Daily Y member rate: $27/session Y non-member rate: $37/session One-on-one lessons for two or more participants. Lessons scheduled around your needs. Must register as a pair - the Y does not match participants. Sign up at member service desk. Ages: 6 months and up Swim Lessons - Youth / Swim Youth Stage 1: Water Acclimation Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday Y member rate: $70 Y non-member rate: $105 For school-age children who have never had swim lessons without a parent or guardian, or are afraid of the water. Students develop comfort with underwater exploration and learn to safely exit the water unassisted. This stage lays the foundation that allows for a student's future progress in swimming. Youth Stage 2: Water Movement Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday Y member rate: $70 Y non-member rate: $105 Prerequisite: Completion of Stage 1. For school-age children who are comfortable in the water and able to swim and float assisted for 10 feet. In Stage 2, students focus on body position and control, directional change, and forward movement in the water while also continuing to practice how to safely exit in the event of falling into the body of water. In Stage 3, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance and also rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.
