SWIMMING 

Camp Chippewa enjoys a recreational 

swim throughout the week, weather 

permitting. Trained Y lifeguards 

conduct swim tests for all campers 

prior to swimming each Monday. 

Camp Octorara enjoys a recreational 

swim twice a week at the Jennersville 

YMCA from 1-3 pm. Camp Discovery 

swims three times a week. Trained Y 

lifeguards conduct swim tests for all 

campers prior to swimming.

WEEKLY THEMES FOR CAMPS CHIPPEWA 

AND OCTORARA (Octorara themes begin on week 2.) 

Week 1 - June 14-18: Wild West Frontier 

Howdy partner! Let’s kick off the summer heading west along the Oregon Trail as your wagon 

of explorers forges its way across rivers, through canyons, and into the wilderness! Along the 

way we might encounter outlaws, gold miners, and wild animals! 

Week 2 - June 21-25: Superheroes 

Calling all Superheroes! Grab your capes, shields, and masks and get ready to show your true 

strength as we save camp from the dastardly villains! We might even create a few of our own! 

Week 3 - June 28-July 2: Walk on the Wild Side 

Discover the wonders of the animal world as we travel deep into the jungle, zip across the 

Sahara and even explore some creatures native to our area. Campers learn about all kinds 

of wild animals! They play cool animal games and discover interesting facts about the animal 

kingdom by doing exciting science experiments. They explore rainforest, desert, and arctic 

animals this week. 

Week 4 - July 5-July 9: A Pirate's Life 

Prepare to set sail and raise the Jolly Roger as we take to the high seas in search of glory and 

hidden treasure. This swashbuckling adventure will cross paths with buccaneers, sea creatures, 

and the scurviest scallywags around. 

Week 5 - July 12-16: Summer Olympics 

The torch has arrived at camp and countries from around the world compete in traditional 

and wacky events to celebrate this summer’s Olympics! 

Week 6 - July 19-23: Star Wars Universe 

Hit the hyperdrive and lock in your tractor beam on this adventure, a long time ago in a 

galaxy far, far away! Travel to distant planets and meet aliens, droids, and Jedi knights while 

escaping from sith lords and troopers! 

Week 7 - July 26-30: Soaking Up Summer 

Let's cannonball into a week of water fun! Come and enjoy a week of wet 'n wild water 

activities, slip and slides, water hoses, water balloons and more! We will mix in some 

summertime favorite “fun in the sun” games. 

Week 8 - August 2-6: Blast From the Past 

It's time to get RETRO! Come have a totally groovy trip through the decades! Each day will be 

a different era and we will learn about popular trends, games, and music from the past! Come 

have a groovy trip through decades of fun! 

Week 9 - August 9-13: Holiday Hoopla 

Let's celebrate! The week’s adventures include searching for the lucky leprechaun, an all 

camp birthday party, Christmas in July, Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Costume Party and more! 

Week 10 - August 16-20: Medieval Kingdom 

Welcome to a time of kings and queens, knights and princesses, dragons and magical 

creatures, where adventures await over the moat and beyond the castle walls. 

Week 11 - August 23-27: Camp Rewind 

Join us in making spectacular summer camp memories as we put the entire summer on rewind! 

We play the summers favorite games, make our favorite crafts and end the summer recreating 

our favorite memories from the past 10 weeks!

Location: Jennersville YMCA 

Week 2: June 21-25 • Sleeping beauty • 9 am-4 pm 

This camp is full of experiences in acting, singing, dancing and other elements of 

stage craft. The week culminates with a performance of Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty”. 




THEATRE CAMP JR’S • Completed grades 3 and up 


Week 3: June 28-July 2 • Shrek • 9 am-4 pm 

Juniors go from backstage to spotlight as they learn all the in’s and out’s of theatre 

production. Campers will participate in acting, singing, dancing and even costuming! 

Camp closes with a performance of “Shrek Jr.” 




FAIRYTALE THEATRE • Completed grades K-3 


Week 5: July 12-16 • 9 am-4 pm 

Fall into fairytales and fun stories while learning about theatre basics including art, 

music and dance. Campers work together to create a script, props and costumes! 




POWER OF THE FORCE • Completed grades 2-10 


Week 10: August 16-20 • 9 am-4 pm 

Join forces with the greatest heroes of the galaxy and take down the darkest evil 

ever faced. Campers will spend their week training in the ways of the force while 

being challenged with daily missions to protect the galaxy!

Welcome to Auradon! Are you “Rotten to The Core” or “Evil Like Me”? If so,

and activities. The week culminates in a fun and energetic performance. 




DANCE CAMP • Completed grades 1-6 


Week 7: July 26-30 • 9 am-4 pm 

Groove to your favorite music and learn hip hop and jazz moves during this 

high energy week that ends with an upbeat performance! 




SCHOOL OF WIZARDRY CAMP • Completed grades 2-10 



Muggles are invited to hop on the train to Hogwarts for a high-flying 

adventure with magical classes, fantastic beasts, house competitions and 

potion making! 




GLEE CAMP • Completed grades 1-6 



Sing! Dance! Get ready to sing your heart out to Broadway, Pop and Rock hit 

songs culminating in a performance at the end of the week.

Put down your cell phones and turn off your video games. Summer days 

off from school just got a lot more fun. Adventure Camp gives campers 

countless opportunities to explore and engage in their interests or 

try new things. Camps will include service opportunities, swimming 

and unique activities and experiences geared toward getting middle 

schoolers engaged, energized and excited. It’s a great way to spend time 

with your friends while making new ones!

immersed in aquatic activities, games and challenges throughout the week. 

Campers must be comfortable in the water and ready to swim every day.

JR. LIFEGUARD CAMP • Completed grades 3-6 


Week 5: July 12-16 

Week 9: August 9-13

Great for campers who love the water, the Jr. Lifeguard Camp provides a solid 

foundation for becoming a lifeguard. Campers learn about aquatic safety and 

lifesaving skills while being mentored by experienced aquatic staff. Campers 

MUST be able to pass the YMCA green band swim test.

EPACT: Once your child's registration 

is processed in our system, the Payer 

and Head of Household will receive an 

email from YMCA of Greater Brandywine 

via ePACT Network. This contains 

very important information on filling 

out your child's health history and 

emergency contacts. Please make sure 

this information has been completed and 

shared online so they can participate on 

the first day of the program. 

REGISTRATION POLICIES 

• A YMCA membership is not required to 

register for camp. However, those who 

maintain a YMCA membership at the 

time of registration through the end of a 

camp session receive the member rate. If 

the membership is not maintained during 

this period, the rate will be adjusted to 

the non-member rate. No changes to 

rates will be made if a YMCA membership 

has been started AFTER the camp 

registration has been processed. 

• Registration for each camp must 

be submitted by 10 pm the previous 

Wednesday. A late fee of $50 will be 

applied on registrations after that 

deadline and if space allows. 

• A camp deposit of $35 per child per week is 

due at the time of registration. Deposits are 

non-refundable and non-transferable and 

are subtracted from your weekly rate. 

Please note, the deposit cannot be 

transferred to another session. 

• The remaining balance will be processed 

two Sundays prior to the camp start date. 

Payments must be made through weekly 

automated drafts or in-full at the time of 

registration. You may pay earlier by 

contacting the branch to set up another 

payment. Camp payments are not able to 

be split between two or more payers. 

• No refunds are available within two weeks 

of the start of the session. 

• Families who receive Child Care Works (CCW) 

funding are required to pay a $10 per 

camper per week fee in addition to their 

weekly co-pay. In the event coverage 

is terminated by CCW, the family will be 

responsible for all care expenses incurred. 

• Families with two or more children signing 

up for the same week receive 10% off the 

lowest weekly fee (restrictions apply). If you 

register online, please complete the sibling 

discount form and we will apply the discount 

to your account. Discount is not able to be 

combined with financial assistance and/or 

staff discounts. 

• Those applying CCW funds must register in 

branch. Online registration is not available 

for those requests.

PICK UP ON TIME! 

The camp day ends at 6 pm at the 

YMCA. If you are going to be late 

picking up your child, please arrange 

to have an authorized pick-up 

person arrive by 6 pm or call the Y 

to inform staff. 

Campers who are repeatedly picked 

up late from extended camp time 

may lose access to the program and 

parents will be required to pick up 

their child(ren) at the end of the 

regular camp day. 

DON'T FORGET

Did you know that kids ages 5 to 10 spend an average 

of up to six hours on screen media daily? That is one of the 

reasons why the use of cell phones, cameras or other 

electronic devices during camp is prohibited. 

Such equipment, if present, will be asked to be put away or 

confiscated and returned at the end of the day. We want 

your children to get the most out of their time at camp.
