Bosse was a major contributor
for the Glenbrook
North boys track and field
team.
When and why did
you start running?
I started running in sixth
grade and it was really because
I found out I didn’t
have much endurance and
wanted to gain athleticism.
At that time, I was playing
soccer and had some pretty
hefty aspirations as a soccer
player, so that I was
finding I didn’t have the
stamina to play an entire
soccer game.
What do you like most
about the sport?
It keeps me in balance.
It’s kind of like my equilibrium.
I’ve found that
when things in life are going
rough, it’s a foundation
that I can return to. Being
out on a run allows me to
reflect and find kind of this
inner balance.
Do you have any
superstitions before
you compete?
I’m extremely careful
about what I eat. I basically
have it down to a science.
I will never eat something
that could be considered
marginally dangerous. We
have a vending machines
there, and there are certain
protein bars that would be
totally fine to eat before a
race, but I look at the fat
content and think it’s a little
too heavy and I’ll turn
down something that’s
barely imperfect.
What is one thing
people don’t know
about you?
I’m very meticulous.
To a lot of my friends, I
can come off as someone
who’s friendly and goes
with the flow, but when it
comes to my work, I’m extremely
meticulous. If one
thing is out of order, I just
work tirelessly to correct
that one thing.
What is your favorite
sports moment?
It was the first time we
qualified for state. It was
the sectional race in May
of 2017, my junior year,
the first time our team
qualified for state. I remembered
I ran a fast split
for a personal best and
I just remember watching
Kyle Foley just outkicking
everyone on the
final bend to take first. At
that point, it wasn’t even a
doubt that we made state.
If you were a
superhero, what
superpower would you
want?
I would definitely do
time travel. This is barring
any Butterfly Effect. I
would like to travel back in
time so I can make intelligent
investment decisions
and become a trillionaire
in a few weeks.
What would you do if
you won the lottery?
I would probably get
a good financial advisor.
Most people end up in a
financial meltdown within
months.
If you could play
another sport what
sport would it be?
I would play soccer because
I used to play it.
What is your favorite
area restaurant?
Kamehachi is amazing.
I guess it’s more of an occasional
restaurant but I
love going there with my
family. I get four-to-five
orders of spicy tuna rolls
with some crunch, so that’s
around 30 rolls.
If you could be any
animal, which would
you choose?
I would want to be a
bunny. I have a bunny
and they’re extremely fast
and agile, and they can
get away with anything
because they’re adorable.
I admire their agility and
they can be mischievous
and no one cares.
