Uyo, the state capital, to<br />

drum up support for the<br />

re-election <strong>of</strong> Governor<br />

Udom Emmanuel in<br />

2019.<br />

The women in different<br />

uniforms sang and<br />

danced, and ended the<br />

solidarity march at<br />

Government House, Uyo,<br />

take decisions. You are<br />

the first set <strong>of</strong><br />

presidential <strong>as</strong>pirants to<br />

visit our state without a<br />

sitting governor, but I<br />

want to <strong>as</strong>sure you that<br />

the party is very strong<br />

here.<br />

“You have given our<br />

people food for thought<br />

after listening to your<br />

speeches. This party is<br />

truly blessed because we<br />

have the best brains in<br />

chiefs and the entire<br />

political cl<strong>as</strong>s, everybody<br />

that is proud to be<br />

identified and called a<br />

Rivers man or woman, to<br />

give your total support to<br />

Governor, Wike.<br />

“I am not saying it from<br />

a political position. I am<br />

talking from the position<br />

where they re-affirmed<br />

their unalloyed support<br />

for the governor and<br />

vowed to mobilize others<br />

the women taunted the<br />

former governor, Senator<br />

Godswill Akpabio, for<br />

defecting to the All<br />

Progressives Congress,<br />

APC.<br />

In her remarks,<br />

Commissioner for Women<br />

Affairs and Social Welfare,<br />

Dr. Glory Edet, who led<br />

the women, insisted that<br />

there w<strong>as</strong> no vacancy in<br />

the Hill Top Mansion, the<br />

Akwa Ibom State<br />

our party to give<br />

Nigerians the leadership<br />

they deserve.<br />

“I, therefore, appeal to<br />

you our presidential<br />

<strong>as</strong>pirants visiting us to<br />

address issues. Do not<br />

run down anybody. We<br />

must run civilized<br />

campaigns and at the<br />

end <strong>of</strong> the day, we will<br />

support the person who<br />

God wants to use to win<br />

the election.”<br />
