Swaffham Swimming Pool
Sport England and Breckland District Council have
told us we need up-to-date evidence to prove that the
people of Swaffham would actually use a swimming
pool, before they consider helping us to move the
project forward. There is a short survey which
everybody who has an opinion about swimming in
Swaffham needs to complete if we are to get any
closer to making the dream a reality.
To complete the survey please visit www.smartsurvey.
co.uk/sSwaffhamSwimmingPoolCIO or look out for
people with paper versions at events in Swaffham.
Many thanks.
Swaffham Christmas Lunch
I know what you’re thinking...talk of the ‘C’ word
already?! Yes, it may seem a little early but in order
to be able to put on our Christmas celebration a lot
of time needs to go into planning and co-ordination.
Every year we hope to better the last and this year is
no exception. As always we welcome anyone to come
and join us for a few hours of food and festivities on
Christmas Day in the Assembly Rooms. So, if you
or anyone you know will be alone this Christmas
and would like to come along then please contact
Iceni Partnership on 01760 722800. We would also
welcome anyone who could volunteer either on the
day or in the days leading up to Christmas to help
with tasks such as decorating and serving food. We
look forward to hearing from you!
WANTED – A COMMUNITY GOVERNOR
What are we looking for?
The Nicholas Hamond Academy Governing Body is made up of Community, Parent and Staff
Governors.
Our Governors may come to us through a variety of routes and with a range of different
backgrounds, skills and experiences, but they are all volunteers who work together for the
benefit of the academy and are the link between the academy and the community it serves.
Due to a governor retiring, we are currently looking for a new Community Governor and
would be delighted to hear from anyone who has:
• An interest in the performance of the academy
• A desire to contribute to and represent the community
• An open and enquiring mind
• The ability to look at issues objectively and to monitor and challenge
• The confidence to ask questions and join in debate.
• A willingness to listen and make informed judgements
• A Team Player
• Time to spare
We are particularly interested in someone with business experience in order to complete our
skill set.
If you match the above description, you may be the very person to become a Governor at
The Nicholas Hamond Academy and be part of our journey the ‘Be the Best that we can be’
What can we offer?
• A chance to develop skills in strategic management
• The opportunity to work with our team of governors and staff in meetings and Link
Visits to monitor progress
• A sense of achievement in making a difference to our School
Being a governor can be enjoyable, stimulating and rewarding.
If you are interested, please contact Jill Hambright Clerk to the Governors for an application
form, or to find out more about the role and the appointment process. Email:
Jill.Hambright@tnha.org.uk or Tel: 01760 726152
