SUNSHINE & CLOUDS
Aug. 21, 2018
Debbie Garrison
We lost our Dear Friend Ed Kroeker on August 15, 2018. Ed was a good friend and a
longtime CVC Member. He was funny, ornery, always had a smile on his face and loved to
have a good time. He was generous to so many including our CVC family sharing
Kroekerville whenever the opportunity arose whether it be Fourth of July celebration,
Mother’s Day, a picnic or one of our children’s weddings. They were always there for us.
We had so many adventures and good times and made so many memories together. Ed
and Joyce decided to get married on their first date but had to wait two weeks for Ed’s
next paycheck. Last month they were married 59 years. Ed loved his family, being a Dad,
a Grandpa and Great-Grandpa were his greatest joys. He had countless friends and with
his easy-going ways made friends wherever he went. He was a truly self-made man and
he and Joyce built a legacy to be proud of for years to come. His services were attended
by many of our Corvette Family past and present. It was a celebration of great man and
he will be missed! We were blessed to know him!
Deb & Charlie West are leaving us! They will be moving to a lake house in Bella Vista,
Arkansas. Deb sent me a note saying how much they enjoyed being members in Central
Valley Corvettes. “You guys welcomed us and we truly appreciate the friendships formed”
Their home in Visalia sold much faster than they anticipated and the new owners asked
for a short escrow. So, they are planning to leave CA on August 31 st . They don’t have a
lake house yet, but they will be staying at Deb’s Dad place until they find a permanent
place or a rental. We wish Deb and Charlie safe travels and the best of luck with their
new adventure.
Tom and Marcie Jarvis were involved in an accident coming home from the Colorado Run
near Bakersfield and their car was nearly totaled. Luckily, they weren’t hurt and came
away with just a few stiff muscles and some bumps and bruises.
Joyce Kroeker told me that “That every day is a gift”. Enjoy those gifts while they are
present in your life, tell those that matter that you love them or that you appreciate
them. Be the friend that you would like someone to be to you, treat people with respect
and that respect will be returned to you. Be kind, be humble and enjoy life blessings.
Your Sunshine Girl, Debbie G.
