MILA MARQUIS
Die Inspiration für ihre Arbeiten nimmt Mila Marquis meistens
aus anderen Illustrationen, aus Magazinen, Büchern
oder auch aus dem Internet. Wenn sie ein Buch liest,
schießen ihr Ideen für die Illustrationen in den Kopf. Dann
fängt sie an zu zeichnen und der Stift macht die Arbeit.
Mila benutzt eine große Auswahl an unterschiedlichen
Techniken: Bleistift, Wasserfarben, Goache, Acrylfarben,
Buntstifte und Wachsmalkreide.
Manchmal bestehen ihre Werke aus einem Mix aus verschiedenen
Techniken – manchmal auch nur eine. Ihr
Vorgehen hängt immer vom Look und der Atmosphäre
ab, die sie anzustreben versucht.
Mila beginnt schnelle Entwürfe zu machen, um einen
groben Überblick zu bekommen und ein erstes Farbschema
zu entwickeln. Die Details entstehen nach und
nach und manchmal ändert sich sogar die Farbpalette
während der Arbeit.
The inspiration for Mila Marquis’ artwork comes from a
wide variety of contemporary sources; books, magazines
and the internet all feed Mila’s imagination, creating
images in her mind.
She begins to scribble, and her pencil does the rest of
the work!
Mila uses a variety of different techniques including pencils,
watercolors, gouache, acrylics and even crayons.
Sometimes her work is a big mix of all of these, and at
others she uses a single technique.
In general, Mila sketches first, developing a basic color
theme before letting the details and final color develop
as she works to finish a piece.
