ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
Contemporary artist Benjamin Guy
of Funbeard Studios will set up
his studio in the Spotlight Makers
Pavilion for the duration of the
Show. This is a rare opportunity to
see behind the scenes of an artist’s
practice as he creates new work in
the “studio”. Ask Benjamin questions
and observe his amazing painting
technique in this unique living
“display” in the heart of the Art,
Craft and Cookery Exhibition.
TEA COSY COLLECTIVE
EXHIBITION
One of the most popular exhibitions
at the Royal Melbourne Show, the
Tea Cosy Collective sees detailed
and inventive creations on display
— with everything from traditional
classics, to cartoon characters and
more abstract designs.
The tea cosies are auctioned off
after the Show, and all funds go to
supporting Dementia Australia in its
mission to provide advocacy, support
services, education and information
for all types of dementia. Be sure to
vote for your favourite tea cosy in the
Popular Choice Award.
TIME TO CELEBRATE
Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings
and graduations — makers mark
milestones with art, craft and culinary
creations. This year, take a closer
look at exhibits with a celebratory
theme in the photography, crochet,
knitting, embroidery, millinery and
decorated cupcakes sections.
