When one thinks of leadership, you think of 

CEOS, executives, coaches and dads. Webster 

defines leadership as directorship, 

management and guidance, but actually 

leadership is a mindset and way of being. As a 

leader, we imagine what kind of person we 

would want to hire and how we should 

project that attitude. Mindset is influential as 

it determines how you channel your 

emotions, gage your reactions, make your 

decisions and most importantly the actions 

you take as a leader. Your mindset is who you 

are. Your mindset is a direct reflection of your 

beliefs, attitude and expectations that 

determine how you lead. Mindset can 

ultimately effect an employees performance, 

productivity and ultimately overall customer 

service. 

Human Resources professionals have a 

powerful position when it comes to 

leadership. We set the tone. We are 

essentially the police of conduct, character 

and yes - attitude. HR's goal is to identify 

positive productive employees that result in 

leaders 

No one person made the dream work 

without the team work. ( Yes, I know, a 

cliché). 

A leader can be most effective by 

influencing change through example 

and positive reform when creative 

strategies are implemented. Leaders 

can't lead from behind your desk - you 

have to walk around and talk to your 

people.

Titans..." ...attitude reflects leadership ".

leadership; my philosophy of leadership is that 

it is one's character. There are three major 

characteristics of a leader. The first is being 

effective through genuine communication. No 

one respects a leader who can't relate - just be 

yourself. If you can't communicate with your 

staff, be honest, seek help by diversifying your 

perspective. We know how to get it done in HR 

and are there as your leadership resource. 

Second, be present. Being involved with your 

staff and responding to their needs personally 

as well as professionally goes a long way. And 

lastly, having a vision and sharing it with your
