Men charged with theft
Three Chicago residents
face criminal charges after
allegedly using forged
checks at the TCF Bank
location at the Jewel-Osco
in Frankfort, according to
Frankfort Deputy Police
Chief Kevin Keegan.
Laron Lewis, 23, was
charged with felony retail
theft, while Terrence
McKinnis, 22, and Lenard
McKinnis, 44, were each
charged with forgery, financial
institution fraud
and identity theft.
Two other subjects were
released without charges,
Keegan said.
Officers responding Sept.
18 to a report of retail theft
at the Jewel-Osco discovered
a silver Chevy Impala
containing financial documents
that included blank
checks, completed checks
and several papers with
TCF Bank visible on the
top, Keegan said.
“As we conducted a
further investigation, we
learned that there was a
business in Chicago that
had their banking information
and routing information
taken, and it was being
used fraudulently,” Keegan
said. “They were deprived
of more than $12,000.”

at least $500 was reported
taken from a business parking
lot in the 500 block of
Center Road.
Sept. 16
Darnell A. Taylor, 51, of
11807 S. Bishop Street in
Chicago, was cited in the
area of Harlem Avenue and
Golfview Drive for allegedly
driving under the influence
and having a blood
alcohol concentration of at
least .08.
According to Keegan, officers
found Taylor's vehicle
pulled onto the grass
shoulder in the area of Harlem
Avenue and Aberdeen
Road. Taylor was allegedly
passed out in the driver's
seat with the vehicle running,
did not pass field
sobriety testing and had
breath alcohol more than
twice the legal limit of .08.
Donte A. Davis, 32, of
4749 Hickory Creek Drive
in University Park, was
cited in the area of Lincoln
Highway and Wolf Road
for alleged failure to reduce
speed to avoid an accident
and not having a valid driver's
license.

Patrick J. Kennedy, 22, of
119 Kansas St. in Frankfort,
was cited in the area of
La Grange and St. Francis
roads for allegedly driving
with a suspended license.

block of 80th Avenue.
