ACTIVITIES
Chinese New Year celebration 2018
This major Chinese festival is always a good
opportunity for our non-Chinese students
to learn more about Chinese culture while
having fun and games. Events such as this are
an important part of the holistic education
journey that we provide for our students.
Global Outdoor classroom day
Students participated in the Global Outdoor
classroom day on 17th May 2018. The objective
was to promote the benefits of outdoor learning;
Outdoor learning is sensory, hands-on and
experiential. It also enhances students’ physical
development, which is crucial at this age. We all
had a lot of fun and will definitely continue to
expose our students to outdoor experiences!

K2 Graduation 2018
Songkran Celebration 2018
Songkran is a time for celebration, as well as a
time to show respect and love to our seniors. At
SISB, we embrace modern concepts but, at the
same time, cherish the culture and traditions
that make us who we are.
Off we go to Primary school! As our K2 graduates
bid farewell to the Nursery-Kindergarten section
on 29th June 2018, another new, exciting adventure
awaits them in Primary School. Our young
graduates are ready and well prepared for the next
stage of their learning journey, and we are sure
that they will do very well.

Celebration 2018
It was a fitting grand performance to end the
academic year on a high for our kids. Our teachers
and students had a lot of fun putting
up the performances and we sure hope the
audience enjoyed them too!

SISB CSR EL Project: Children’s Day
celebration
Our teachers, students and staff had a great
time celebrating Children’s Day last Saturday
with students from Praram 9 Kanchanapisek
School. We hope everyone had a good time,
and thanks to all who made it possible.

K2 field trip to Rama 9 temple
Tots Playgroup 2018
Our TOTs playgroup resumed this January
and we have been having a lot of fun
exploring new activities set by the teachers
around the topic of weather. Toddlers
practised their fine motor skills by spooning
rocks out of the water, watering plants with
syringes, using tongs for transferring and
digging in the “snow”. They also explored
colours and textures with ice cubes, paint
and pompoms.
January, all K2 students had the opportunity to visit the nearby
Rama 9 Temple as part of a field trip co-organised by our Thai
department. Students made offerings to the monks, and listened
to the head monk deliver lessons, including guidance on how to
meditate, and also about the importance of respecting parents
and teachers. Students explored the grounds of the temple,
including the flower garden, and a wall dedicated to the projects
of HM King Rama 9. It was a great trip, enjoyed by the students,
teachers, and many parents who joined us.

N1-N2 Sports Days
Our Nursery students enjoyed a morning
full of sporty activities during our N1 and
N2 Sports Days last week! Thank you to all
parents who joined us and had fun playing
or cheering with their child! Congratulations
to the N1 Green Panthers and the N2 Yellow
Cheetahs!
Global School Play Day 2018
NK Department had so much fun celebrating
Global School Play Day (GSPD)
on 7 Feb!! GSPD is an international event
aimed at raising awareness about the
importance of play in children’s learning.
Long Play periods develop children’s
creativity, problem-solving and interpersonal
skills. Play promotes imagination,
independence, risk taking and
confidence! Our NK students brought
one toy and one book from home; they
shared them with all their friends and
had plenty of time to enjoy all kinds of
activities and materials set out for them.
We are already looking forward to doing
it again next year!
K2 Field Trip to Golden Horse
Riding Club
In March, all K2 classes had the chance to visit
the Golden Horse Riding Club in Bangkok.
The children enjoyed an exhilarating show
and learnt about the various pieces of equipment
used in horse riding, such as saddles,
stirrups and reins. It was a first time experience
for many children, and the looks of joy on
their faces was wonderful to see.
Learning about fire safety
On 25th April 2018, the fire department
paid a visit to Pracha
Uthit campus to educate our K1
and K2 students about the importance
of fire safety. Students
were given the opportunity to
put out a fame using a fire extinguisher,
then got to crawl
through a tunnel to simulate
evacuating a building during a
fire. It was an exciting event for
all the children involved, and no
doubt inspiring a few future firefighters
in the process!

When I first came to
this school, I was a timid
nursery student and
cried my eyes out wanting to go
home. But now, this school is a safe
haven for me and I cannot possibly
vfathom how quickly I will be completing
my Primary education. Although I
wish to stay in touch with all my
friends I know that we will all
eventually go our separate
ways as we move on to
Secondary school.
From the time I joined SISB
in K2, I have had numerous
teachers and peers. My
lessons have extended beyond
just the classroom and I have gained
so many life experiences, too. I remain
