“Having amazing mentors along the way helped me gain
inside experience that my future clients will be able to
appreciate and relate to.”
Her wedding, entitled Viva El Amor not only earned the
Antonian Award in the category of Best Wedding Event
under $50,000, but also the Texas Star Award in the category
of Best Wedding under $75,000—a surprise Kryzta
says was the validation that she’d chosen the right path.
“Hearing our wedding being called [as the winning event]
was proof that my mother’s wishes had come true and
was a sign to me that she was present, not only at our
wedding, but at the awards celebration too. I got emotional
both times because I truly felt I’d made her proud.”
With each award, Kryzta gave a touching speech
expressing her heartfelt gratitude for her ability to be a
part of such exciting work. “How honorable is it to be a
part of an industry where we can use our talents to
create an ambiance like this that facilitates a moment
which transitions to a memory that will be cherished for
a lifetime,” Kryzta asked—moving some of her own
colleagues to tears.
“When I planned my own wedding, my focus was to get
married after waiting nearly 10 years to say my vows to
the love of my life. Never did I imagine this outcome, but
when I heard our wedding called, I felt a bittersweet joy.”
The Journey Forward
Now that the fanfare has died down, Kryzta explains her
days as a “Celebration Specialist” are as busy as ever.
She’s even moved to Austin, where she’s currently
working to expand the Panache Event Group brand.
“Being a new event professional in a new city certainly
has its challenges, especially when my original colleagues
are all in San Antonio,” she says. “But since my move,
I have gained many connections, established industry
friends and have gained bookings. Winning awards
provides a sense of credibility and the clients that have
booked with me did so after learning my story.”
Most importantly, these achievements have also pushed
her to become more confident in her abilities as a
wedding and event designer. She’s placed value on the
lessons that her mentors have taught her, embracing a
few lessons that she now shares with her incoming
couples.
“The biggest and most important lessons I will share are
the following, she explains.” Whether you both decide to
hire a planner or take on the whole project as a DIY team,
remember to: always maintain constant communication
on both the minor and major decisions; always respect
each other’s ideas and beliefs—both among company
and behind closed doors; always be honest with one
Her experience has taught her that those four lessons are
not only essential during the wedding planning process,
but are pillars that serve as the foundation of love. She
explains to her brides that the journey of wedding
planning will remind them that they can no longer think
‘I alone,’ but now ‘we together.’
With one final lesson for her couples, she shares, “my
husband and I are truly blessed to have had our family,
friends (industry included) to celebrate the most beautiful
and memorable day of our nearly 12-year relationship.
At the end of your day, after you’ve said your vows, you
will be experiencing so many beautiful emotions. Allow
yourself to just be in that cloud of joy throughout the
celebration! That feeling of joy is all that really matters.”
