Tourist Triumph<br />
A Wrightington business has been announced as a<br />
finalist in the Lancashire Tourism Awards.<br />
JAK Hanson, an outlet department store based in<br />
Derby House, is celebrating its place in the Retail<br />
Experience Award category. The company offers<br />
a huge range of fashion, shoes and homeware<br />
at bargain prices, featuring big-name brands like<br />
Regatta, Weird Fish and Julian Charles. Launched in<br />
September 2013, JAK Hanson recently celebrated its<br />
fifth birthday at Derby House, which is also home to<br />
the Paddock restaurant, a food hall and butchers.<br />
103 finalists across 22 categories will compete in the<br />
<strong>2018</strong> Lancashire Tourism Awards. The winners are<br />
due to be announced in <strong>November</strong> with a black-tie<br />
dinner and ceremony.<br />
<strong>Wigan</strong> Walkers<br />
The <strong>Wigan</strong> Rambling and Climbing Club welcomes<br />
new members.<br />
The club holds regular coach rambles, walks and<br />
activities to suit everyone. If you want to explore<br />
<strong>Wigan</strong> and the wider North West including the Lake<br />
District, this could be the society for you. In summer<br />
the club also organises Tuesday night pub walks,<br />
which are replaced with weekly social meetings at<br />
the <strong>Wigan</strong> Sports Club in the winter months.<br />
