Study Programme to
Apprenticeship
Callum started his Plumbing Study Programme at
ProCo after a recommendation from a friend. He had
previously attended another training provider but
found the bigger classroom environment wasn’t for
him, as Callum said: ‘ProCo stood out because of the
small class sizes – you get that personal one-to-one
support from your tutor.’
It was his ambition to do a Construction
Apprenticeship once he completed his Study
Programme, and that is exactly what he has done! As
part of his Programme, Callum did work experience
with SMJ Joinery & Home Improvements. He
showed that he was keen to learn and impressed
the company so much that they employed him
as an Apprentice. Having started with Level 1
Plumbing, Callum is now doing a multi-trade Level
2 General Construction Apprenticeship. Well done
Callum!
‘A great thing about ProCo is how hard they work
to find learners an apprenticeship… All of the staff
are really friendly and supportive. I have made lots
of new friends and I enjoy the course… I don’t think
you would get the same opportunities at another
college or training provider as you do here.’ Callum
Buxton
ProCo was established in 2003, and works with
local businesses to deliver a range of training and
qualifications to young people and adults.
