A cause she holds dearly by virtue of her experience as far as the Mental Health issue is concerned. She is a survivor and so she tells her story in a most compassionate way. FAMILY & SUPPORT I was on the verge of a nervous breakdowns. My mum and my auntie knew before me that I was falling unwell. I knew something was different in regards to how I was feeling. I started feeling scared, anxious and very jumpy at every little sound. I was starting to have panic attacks and extremely emotional. Crying for every little thing I just could n't cope with life. For me my problems felt so big. I remember that my mum would say to me, "Christina you're making the problem bigger than what it is". "The problem is this small but your mind is blowing it up like its this big". Talking to my mum about how I was feeling always seemed to give me comfort. My mum was also a manager for youth work in London Hackney. She was a very good listener and gave back very helpful advice. I was 17 years old the first time I fell unwell. Just after having my first son. It stemmed from post natal depression and then led into full blown depression. It further progressed into Mental Health complications. So when my mum and auntie noticed a change in my personality, they had let me know that they were worried about me because they feel that i am falling unwell & that they are book an appointment for me to see a psychiatrist. My response to what they had said was "I don't need to see a doctor i am not mad, everyone else is mad". I was no longer thinking rational because at this stage i had started to develop psychosis.
