Keane, deputy chief of the Deerfield Police Department. According to Keane, the Kenosha Police Department alerted towns along Route 41 that it was tracking a stolen vehicle that was reportedly in the area. The vehicle made its way into Highland Park when an officer saw it turn onto Lake Cook and proceed Westbound, according to Keane. Per Keane, the vehicle then turned down a street near P.F. Chang’s, turned around and proceeded eastbound on Lake Cook. The vehicle next attempted to go between two cars, which were stopped at the traffic light, and made contact with both, resulting in a traffic accident that disabled the vehicle, per Keane. Shortly after, a Deerfield officer pulled up to the scene and saw the subjects from the stolen vehicle attempt to flee the scene. With the assistance of the Northbrook and Highland Park Police Departments, the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, and other local agencies, five individuals are now in custody. “They are an assortment of adults and juveniles,” Keane told The Northbrook Tower. “No one has been officially charged yet. We’re still investigating and working with Kenosha Police Department to try and determine what we have here.” Reporting by Northbrook Tower staff. Full story at NorthbrookTower.com. THE GLENCOE ANCHOR Chicago Bears backup quarterback buys home in Glencoe Khalid Mack isn’t the only Bear with a den in Glencoe. The Chicago Bears migratory backup quarterback Chase Daniel and his wife, Hillary, have used a land trust to purchase a newly-built Nantucket style home in Glencoe for $1,489,000. If the couple decides to go on a night on the town in Glencoe and have a few drinks at the Tudor Wine Bar they might bump into Mack, the star linebacker who earlier this year used a land trust to shell out $3,750,000 to buy a 6,100 square-foot newly-built mansion. Both players are in their first season with the Bears. Daniel’s 12-room home occupies 4,237 square feet and is located on a 0.36- acre lot on a cul-de-sac. It has five bedrooms, a kitchen with a Cambria quartz island, a master suite, double walk-in closets, 5.1 bathrooms, an oversized marble shower, lower level guest quarters and a spacious recreation room. There is hardwood flooring throughout the ground floor. The home also has a gas fireplace and an outdoor grill. In addition to a heated two-and-a-half car garage, the home has a driveway that can accommodate 10 cars. The original home on the lot was sold for $485,000 in November 2013 and then was demolished. According to the Chicago Tribune, the newly-built home was first listed in May 2017 for $1,849,000. The final asking price prior to the sale to Daniel and his wife was $1,549,000 in February. THE WILMETTE BEACON Attire to Inspire fundraiser supports local moms Fashion trends may come and go, but the friendships that form over the shared goal of supporting school-aged children never goes out of style. For this reason, on Nov. 7, women across the community put their carpool duties aside, coming together at Wilmette’s Michigan Shores Club, in support of The District 39 Educational Foundation — a 501 (c)(3) dedicated to raising additional funding needed to enrich, expand and complement educational opportunities — during the 5th annual Attire to Inspire fashion show, where moms modeled and mingled, mixing fun and philanthropy. Throughout the year, the Foundation hosts a number of fundraising events — such as trivia nights, bingo nights and more, all geared towards parents and children. The fashion show, however, is unique in that it is solely geared toward moms, giving women a chance to bond outside of the school pick-up lines. New this year was a switch from a daytime to an evening event, keeping the working mom in mind. Reporting by Alexa Burnell. Full story at Wilmette Beacon.com
