Diamond’s Family Restaurant hopes to unite families for the holidays<br />

When Lockport resident Teresa<br />
Bahryjczuk opened the restaurant<br />
in September 2<strong>01</strong>8, she<br />
knew she wanted it to become<br />
a gathering place for families in<br />
the community.<br />
“The biggest thing about our<br />
restaurant is that it is more of a<br />
family-style restaurant,” Teresa<br />
said. “We provide home-cooked<br />
meals. The food here is made to<br />
order from our kitchen to your<br />
table.”<br />
At Diamond’s Family Restaurant,<br />
the food is made from<br />
scratch, with the exception of a<br />
few appetizers.<br />
“I take pride in serving fresh,<br />
not frozen foods,” Teresa said.<br />
The menu at Diamond’s Family<br />
Restaurant is large and can be<br />
categorized as American traditional.<br />
While there are a variety of offerings<br />
on the menu, Teresa said<br />
their most popular items are the<br />
half-pound, hand-packed burger<br />
($8.95), flat-iron steak sandwich<br />
($11.49) and the Diamond<br />
chopped salad ($12.49).<br />
The offerings don’t stop there.<br />
Diamond’s Family Restaurant<br />
sets itself apart with its daily<br />
lunch buffet.<br />
The buffet is from 11 a.m.-2<br />
p.m. and is $6.99 for adults and<br />
$4.99 for children 10 and younger.<br />
On top of that, the restaurant<br />
also offers daily specials.<br />
On Mondays, stop in for a<br />
po’boy sandwich ($8.95), which<br />
is a beef patty served on garlic<br />
bread with grilled onions, American<br />
cheese and your choice of<br />
side.<br />
Tuesdays are taco night. Come<br />
for a Taco Dinner ($6.95), which<br />
includes three beef or chicken<br />
tacos, topped with cheese and<br />
cilantro, and served with a bed<br />
of lettuce, tomato rice and beans.<br />
Add steak for an extra $2.<br />
Diamond Family Restaurant’s<br />
famous half-pound, hand-packed<br />
burger is on special for $5 on<br />
Wednesdays. The burger comes<br />
with a choice of french fries,<br />
tater tots or a side salad. Add<br />
cheese for $1 or upgrade your<br />
side for an additional charge.<br />
Fresh bone-in or boneless<br />
wings ($5) are on special every<br />
Thursday.<br />
Then, customers can come<br />
right back on Friday for the Malibu<br />
chicken sandwich ($8.95),<br />
which is a grilled chicken breast<br />
with ham, Swiss cheese, lettuce<br />
and tomato, all served on a bun<br />
with a choice of side.<br />
Saturday is chicken Parmesan<br />
sandwich night ($8.95).<br />
The classic is made with handbreaded<br />
chicken breast, marinara<br />
sauce, and mozzarella and Parmesan<br />
cheeses on a bun with a<br />
choice of side.<br />
The week ends on Sunday<br />
with the Italian beef sandwich<br />
($8.95).<br />
In an effort to give back to the<br />
community that supports Diamond’s,<br />
Teresa donates 10 percent<br />
of the restaurant’s Tuesday<br />
sales to a local charity or school.<br />
“I am a strong believer in supporting<br />
the local small businesses,”<br />
she said. “I am really big at<br />
giving back to the community,<br />
because the community is what<br />
keeps us alive.”<br />
Teresa welcomes families to<br />
her restaurant for the holiday<br />
season and said there is something<br />
for everyone. While children<br />
are waiting on their food,<br />
they can play a number of games<br />
at the restaurant.<br />
