male orange and white
tabby. He has a great
personality and gets along
well with both cats and
dogs. He is willing to play
with anyone, including
large dogs, and is also
great with the children
that visit him at his foster
home. He enjoys snuggling
and spending time with
people and would do best in a home with other

Celtics have big plans with
experience, skill players
A team that’s primed for its
best season in years is in the
hands of a new head coach.
Longtime Celtics coach
Tim Trendel took a job closer
to home at Marist, and filling
the void is New Lenox resident
and Providence Catholic
alum Kyle Murphy, who
served as Trendel’s assistant
the past three seasons.
“I tell everyone Providence
has a rich basketball
history that I think some people
aren’t aware of,” Murphy
said. “To be in this spot is obviously
a dream come true.”
With the Celtics’ season
now in full swing at the
WJOL Tournament at University
St. Francis through
Saturday, Nov. 24, Murphy
installed a new offense to better
accommodate the team’s
versatility. Through Trendel,
they ran a motion offense,
but Murphy said roughly
six players can contribute it
many different ways, and he
would like to exploit that by
opening the floor and playing
more uptempo. The team is
going to score a lot of points,
but Murphy added they have
to learn how to defend, too.

Troop 63 member assists
Nativity House for Eagle
Scout project
Danny Donohue put considerable
time and effort into
his Eagle Scout project, but
what he got out of it was so
much more.
“I think it’s important to
help the community, because
it’s giving back,” the
15-year-old said. “You can
also take a personal note of
it, so if I grow older I would
be able to go back and show
my kids and other family
members what I’ve accomplished
in my life.”
On Oct. 27, Danny, 22 Boy
Scouts and 12 adults came
together for one common
goal: help Nativity House
in Lockport. The nonprofit
organization “serves as a
house of hospitality for firsttime
mothers” and provides
a “mothering community offering
education and support
for all mothers,” according to
its website.
