Dear Fellow Nevadans,
OWINN has had a phenomenal 2017-2018 year. During that time, we collaborated with partners, received grant funding to
support Nevada’s workforce, scaled Registered Apprenticeships into new occupations and industries, provided strategy on
workforce policies that align with the state’s economic vision, and engaged in many strategic initiatives to improve Nevada’s
workforce ecosystem. We also facilitated opportunities to connect young adults to the workforce and engaged in dozens of
events, connecting with hundreds of Nevadans to training and employment opportunities. We even shared Nevada’s workforce
best practices nationally and internationally.
An important component of building a skilled, diverse, and aligned workforce ecosystem is having public and private partners
who are willing to engage positively, think boldly, and work tirelessly towards a common vision. OWINN’s success is due to
Governor Sandoval setting a bold vision and providing thoughtful leadership to change our state’s economic landscape. OWINN
is thankful we have so many partners who are dedicated to improving Nevada’s workforce ecosystem. We are even more
thankful that we have the hardest working staff in the country – their enthusiasm and work ethic is what makes all of our
success possible.
It has been my pleasure serving as OWINN’s Executive Director for the past 2.5 years. Thank you to our public and private
partners we engage every day to scale opportunities for Nevadans to access high-demand careers by aligning Nevada’s
workforce ecosystem.
