Pavilion offers family fun and a celebration<br />

of the various cultures that make up the city.<br />

The event features numerous choirs, music<br />

ensembles and dance companies from the<br />

various neighborhoods of the Los Angeles<br />

area. The celebration runs from 3 to 6 p.m.,<br />

and admission is free, including free parking<br />

under the Music Center. The entire event will<br />

be broadcast live on PBS SoCal.<br />

Christmas Eve features a 3 p.m. family candlelight<br />

service with a children’s choir. The 5:30<br />

p.m. Festive Eucharist features the Trouveres<br />

youth choir and Trouveres alumni. Sally Howard<br />

preaches. At 8 and 11 p.m., the Festive<br />

Eucharist with choir and chamber orchestra<br />

includes Mike Kinman preaching.<br />

services at the church. Children and youth<br />

lead a family-friendly service at 5 p.m., and<br />

at 8 p.m., an informal service of carols and<br />

prayer takes place outside, on bleachers set<br />

up for the Rose Parade. At 10:30 p.m., the<br />

church’s Chancel Choir and professional<br />

orchestra performs Vivaldi’s “Gloria.” At 11<br />

p.m., a traditional candlelight service features<br />

music by a choir and orchestra, and Holy<br />

Communion is offered in the sanctuary.<br />
