Dear Ambassadair Guests,
As a new year rolls in, we reflect on all that 2018 had to offer. Along with this past
year, came laughter and excitement, highs and lows, and travel experiences that
will last a lifetime in our memories. We traveled throughout the country and across
the globe to breathtaking destinations. I had the opportunity to direct a variety of
trips and make new friendships along the way. Leading a group of Ambassadair
guests through the Black Forest and Swiss Alps was surely a highlight of my year.
We look forward to the exciting adventures that await us in the new year.
Unique, personalized vacations are a top trend in the travel industry for 2019. At
Ambassadair, we offer our guests one-of-a-kind experiences with our customized
group itineraries. In addition to our pre-determined itineraries, most of our trips
allot free time for our guests to explore areas that suit their interests within each
trip. You may choose to plan additional excursions, explore the surrounding town
to try new food and shop for souvenirs, or simply relax by the hotel pool. Our trips
offer the perfect blend of group and personal experiences.
Additionally, long-time favorite destinations are back and better than ever.
Celebrate cherry blossom season in Japan as you take in awe-inspiring views of
Mount Fuji and exquisite temples. Experience delectable food and wine mixed
with architectural wonders in Paris, Burgundy, and Provence. Explore Black Forest
and the Swiss Alps, the land of fairy tales, cuckoo clocks, and magic forests. Embark
on an African safari in Chobe National Park, experience thundering cataracts
in Victoria Falls, and watch as penguins swim at Boulders Beach on a trip to
Botswana, Victoria Falls, and South Africa.
If you would prefer to stay closer to home, experience our own national treasures.
Marvel at the breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon. Discover a strong sense of
patriotism upon viewing four great American presidents carved in stone on Mount
Rushmore. Witness the iconic sights of El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite
National Park.
MAY THIS YEAR
BE FULL OF
MEMORABLE
TRAVEL
EXPERIENCES.
Last year was one of our biggest years to date. Our trips sold out early, and we
had long waitlists. If there is a trip that you have been dreaming to take, be sure
to book early to ensure your spot on the trip. As you peruse the magazine and fall
in love with a trip to Iceland or realize that you still have yet to experience the Big
Apple, make sure you don’t miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime!
Begin the new year by challenging yourself to try something different. Break out of
your comfort zone. Take that trip you keep putting off for a later date. Experience
a new culture. Travel to a distant land. But most important, check off a few
destinations on your bucket list.
May this year be full of memorable travel experiences. Happy New Year!
Happy Travels,
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS ON A TRIP TO
ICELAND
BY KARLIE NEWMAN
“Ambassadair
takes you to
places you would
never have
known to visit.”
6
For the past forty years, Jerry and Terri Logan have
been frequent Ambassadair travelers. Jerry works as
an Optometrist, but in his free time he is an avid Indiana
University sports fan and enjoys photography. Recently,
Jerry has photographed fifteen of the largest national parks.
He expresses his love for each individual destination saying,
“It is impossible to compare Yellowstone to Yosemite or
Glacier National Park because each park is spectacular,
unique, and different in its own way.” Previously, Jerry won
the Ambassadair Trips Magazine Photo Contest with his
photograph of Glacier National Park. Jerry’s wife, Terri, is
an artist who designs and manufactures wearable jewelry.
When she is not working, you can find her on the tennis
court. The Logans have two adult children. Together, they
have traveled with Ambassadair over twenty times.
The couple originally traveled with Ambassadair because
they enjoyed the direct flights on ATA’s planes where they
had the opportunity to talk with the pilots. Some of their
most notable trips with Ambassadair have been to the
Caribbean, Banff, Quebec City, and Alaska. The couple
recently returned from a trip to Iceland. They describe the
Icelandic landscape to be “rugged, majestic, and diverse.”
While in Iceland, Jerry and Terri celebrated their 50th
Wedding Anniversary. On their final night in Reykjavik,
Beth Anne, the Travel Director, put together a celebration
with the group. They loved exploring Iceland with a group.
Surprisingly, their small group of only eighteen guests was
comprised of three photographers. Jerry had to opportunity
to get to know the other photographers and share trade
secrets. After the groups return, they continue to have small
gatherings in order to keep in touch with their newfound
friendships.
Jerry and Terri love to travel with Ambassadair because
they can always expect to have great experiences on their
trips. These great experiences are in large part due to the
dedication and assistance put forth by the Travel Directors.
During their visit to Iceland, Beth Anne worked alongside
local guides to offer additional opportunities that were
unique to each traveler. The guides took Terri to a store
where she was able to buy rocks for her jewelry-making
business. Similarly, the guides ensured that the group visited
intriguing locations so Jerry and the other photographers
could capture breathtaking images. Jerry and Terri Logan
will continue to travel with Ambassadair because they
offer exclusives that you cannot find in a travel book. Jerry
explains, “Ambassadair takes you to places you would never
have known to visit.” As for the future, Jerry and Terri plan
to visit Hawaii for their next adventure!
POLAR BEARS OF CHURCHILL, CANADA
Winnipeg • Churchill
October 22-25, 2019 • 4 Days $3,899 p/p double
New Trip! Space is limited — Book by February 10
Take an incredible journey to witness the polar bears of
Churchill, Manitoba, Canada firsthand. By October, the
polar bears are hungry. They emerge from summer’s “walking
hibernation” and gather on the shores of Hudson Bay along the
southern edge of Canada’s Arctic. Here, the ice forms first. That
means hunting season. While the bears wait near the remote
town of Churchill (so remote it can’t be reached by road),
there’s not much for them to do but roam the tundra, spar, and
occasionally cause mischief that lands them in polar bear jail.
The idle weeks create perfect conditions for adventure-seekers
to view the bears — sometimes a bear walks right up to the
specially designed tundra buggies. Spend two days exploring
the Churchill Wildlife Management Area with a knowledgeable
guide observing and learning about these enthralling creatures
in their natural habitat. You may also see other wildlife such
as arctic fox, ptarmigan, and snowy owls, and maybe even the
aurora borealis.
Highlights Include:
• Up-close encounters with polar bears in their natural
environment
• 2 full days of tundra tours during peak bear viewing season
• Opportunity to see the aurora borealis
• Winnipeg sightseeing tour
NOTE:This itinerary includes activities where walking, possibly on snow and ice, may be required. See Canada travel restrictions on page 57. Trip Includes: roundtrip air from Indianapolis,
appears on their government issued I.D. If their name
does not match the ticket issued, there will be change fees
that are the responsibility of the traveler. Any person who
cannot prove that he or she is the person designated on
the reservation will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
International flights require that you be able to present a
valid U.S. passport as required. We recommend that your
passport has six months validity and at least 3 blank pages.
Non-U.S. citizens should consult the consulate of host
denied entry to Canada for reasons including, but not
drug possession, all felonies, domestic violence,
shoplifting, theft, and other crimes. It is recommended that
a person who has ever been charged with, or convicted of
a crime obtain the necessary approval documents before
attempting to enter Canada. To learn more about applying
for and receiving these approvals and corresponding
documentation, we strongly recommend that you visit the
following website or details regarding the requirements
and process: www. cic.gc.ca/english/information/
immigration officer will decide if you can enter Canada
that any child over the age of 24 months must occupy a
on ground packages are based on children sharing a room
before the trip. Questions regarding baggage restrictions
on commercial carriers should be directed to that
particular airline.
unless otherwise noted. Ambassadair acts as a sales
agent for air carriers and reserves the right to designate
connecting routing and schedule from Indianapolis.
Tickets issued are highly restrictive and may not be
reissued, revalidated, or exchanged for another carrier or
