Welcome to our January 2019 Issue.
I cannot believe we are in 2019 already. I hope you all had a wonderful festive season and that the New Year brings
lots of resolutions and plans that this year we find easier to keep.
We have lots of wonderful suppliers here offering to help you with your resolutions. Take a look at Fitness By
Design (pg 9) who have had a refurbishment and are looking fresh and welcoming, together with the Toning Suite
(pg 25), they can help you achieve and keep your desired health. Riversmeet (33) have lots going on with an open
day on the 2 January so pop in and see what you can join during 2019. Don’t forget the kids and get them dancing
with TLW (pg 6). If you are thinking of losing weight look at the editorial from Slimming World (pg 22). What a
fantastic amount of weight has been lost, you too could be one of next year’s slimmers.
January is the time we think of change about moving house. Read Chaffers (pg 18/9) detailed advice on preparing
for moving house and remember they can lead you every step of the way. If you decide you are not quite ready
to sell but are thinking of renting out your home Hamlet (pg 15) can help. If you are sprucing up your home
in any way look at Deep Clean (pg 11), Sue Warren (pg 15) or Bruce Chown (Pg27) can all help with cleaning or
redecorating. Don’t forget your garden and call in JW Landscapes (pg 17) for advice.
We have lots of opportunity to try a new skill, if you fancy writing, local author Della Galton (pg 10/26) has a
workshop and course running in January or you could join local writing group Scribblers (pg 31). Have you thought
of learning a language? Get in contact with Dorset Italian (pg 3).
We are delighted that Mohammed at Gillingham Tandoori is back up and running. It was scary to think that we
might lose a business in our town that holds so many great memories for many of us. Local businesses need our
support to survive. It’s a case of use them or lose them!
