Eyes on the prize
The streets of London were 'paved with DM Awards' on November 22nd as we
celebrated the biggest and best year yet for our annual industry get-together; here
are all the winners and runners-up
It was entirely coincidental that the
2018 DM Awards fell on Thanksgiving,
but there was definitely a grateful
atmosphere at London's Radisson Blu
Edwardian Bloomsbury as everyone who
is anyone from across the sector
gathered to celebrate the biggest night
in the industry calendar. The full list of
winners and runners-up can be seen
across the following pages.
Comedian/MC Patrick Monahan teamed
up with cricket legend Chris Cowdrey for
the awards presentations, along with our
own David Hammond, for whom the
evening was slightly tinged with sadness
as this will be his last year working with
Document Manager. DM Editor Dave
Tyler took time out to thank David for all
his hard work in recent years to make the
awards night the huge success that it
now is.
WINNING WAYS
The Product of the Year award went to
Storetec for FreeDocs, and Midwich won
the much-coveted Company of the Year
trophy. EASY Software, whose new UK
CEO is interviewed elsewhere in this issue,
walked away with the Software Product
of the Year trophy for their EASY Contract
Comfort offering, while Hardware Product
of the Year went to eImageData for their
highly specialised but obviously wellregarded
ScanPro All-in-One - the first
time we've seen a microfilm oriented
winner in this category.
The Public Sector Project of the Year
award also went to eImageData for their
work with the Warren County Archives in
the USA; a win that reflected the growing
international scope of the project awards.
Private Sector Project of the Year went to
M-Files for their work with Thyssenkrupp,
a story we featured in Document
Manager earlier this year. Judging
panellist Andrew Graham described the
M-Files winning entry as "…a true start on
a Digital Transformation journey using
workflows to automate complex processes
in production, design and administration."
We would like to thank our panel of
Project judges once more: in addition to
Andrew, Alan Pelz-Sharpe, Harvey Spencer
and Martyn Christian. The credibility of
our awards relies very heavily on the
independence and expertise of these
individuals. Huge thanks also to all of the
sponsors who help us to make the
ceremony such a memorable evening via
their support, year after year: Panasonic,
Kodak Alaris, Midwich, eImageData, EASY
Software UK, ITESOFT and Northamber.
