Car burglars target Buccaneer Drive, steal cash
The latest incident reports
from the Glenview
Police Department show
car burglars targeted the
900 block of Buccaneer
Drive on Jan. 2.
At 6:27 p.m. that day,
a resident from the block
called police to report
someone entered a vehicle
in their driveway and stole
cash and sunglasses, worth
a total of $27.
Just 13 minutes later, another
resident on the 900
block of Buccaneer Drive
reported someone moved
items around inside their
unlocked vehicle parked
in the driveway. There was
no reported loss in this
incident, according to the
reports.

arrested at 11:37 p.m. and
charged with driving under
the influence of alcohol,
driving with a BAC
of .08 or more and failure
to reduce speed to avoid
an accident after a crash in

police investigated a dispute

• Brayan Cortez, 20, of the
10000 block of Michael
Todd Terrace, was arrested
at 11:12 a.m. at the
Glenview Police Station
and charged with
disorderly conduct after
police investigated a report
of harassment in the
3900 block of Glenview
Road.
• Jamie Montesa, of Mount
Prospect, was arrested at
11:12 a.m. at the Glenview
Police Station and charged
with disorderly conduct
after police investigated a
report of harassment in the
3900 block of Glenview
Road.
• Leonard Thomas, 31,
of Chicago, was arrested
at 1:20 p.m. at
the Lake County Jail in
Waukegan and charged
with retail theft. The
charge is related to an
incident that occured
Oct. 24, 2018, at a business
in the 2800 block of
Pfingsten Road. Thomas
was in custody for a warrant
that was issued for
this incident.
• Michal Sawicki, 35, of
Chicago, was arrested
at 6:06 p.m. at the intersection
of Harlem Avenue
and Golf Road and
charged with aggravated
driving under the influence,
driving under the
influence of alcohol, driving
under the influence
with a BAC of .08 or
more, failure to reduce
speed to avoid an accident,
leaving the scene
of an accident, driving
with a suspended license
and operating an uninsured
motor vehicle after a crash.

• Mario Pedraza-Rico,
27, of Highwood, was arrested
at 7:50 p.m. in the
2100 block of Pfingsten
Road and charged with
driving with no valid
driver’s license and failure
to reduce speed to avoid
an accident after police
investigated a crash that
occurred earlier that day in
the 2300 block of Willow
Road.
• At 11:18 a.m., an employee
at a business
in the 1900 block of
Lehigh Avenue reported a
customer ordered lumber
and paid with a check that
had insufficient funds. The
reported loss is $1,028.
• At 3:04 p.m., an employee
at a business in the 2200
block of Shermer Road
reported someone stole
an Xbox game and controllers
from the business.
The reported loss is
$1,000.
• At 9:31 p.m., a resident in
the 2100 block of Franklin
Drive reported someone
entered their home through
an unlocked door. There
was no reported loss.

• At 3:18 p.m., a resident in
the 2100 block of Patriot
Boulevard reported they
received unwanted emails.
• At 7:50 p.m., a resident in
the 2000 block of Saipan
Drive reported loud noise
from a neighbor.
Jan. 5
• At 9:41 a.m., a resident
in the 500 block of Lotus
Lane reported someone
broke a window on
their vehicle parked in the
driveway and stole a backpack
containing a laptop
from inside. The reported
loss is $500.
• At 1:42 p.m., a customer
at a business in the
2500 block of Waukegan
Road reported a wallet was
stolen while shopping. The
reported loss is $435.
Jan. 4
• At 9:33 a.m., an employee
at a business in the 2500
block of Harrison Street
reported someone spraypainted
graffiti on the field
house. The reported loss is
$250.
• At 12:24 p.m., a resident
in the 200 block of Glendale
Road reported someone
was on their property
without permission.
• At 5:43 p.m., a resident in
the 1300 block of Greenwillow
Lane reported
someone tried to purchase
a painting online with a
fraudulent check. There
was no reported loss.
• At 4:05 p.m., an employee
at a business in the 2000
block of Waukegan Road
reported someone stole car
parts from the lot. The reported
loss is $50.

was on their property without
