About a month after
the deadline for
candidates to file
petitions to appear on
The stage is set
the upcoming ballot, the
slate of candidates for the
Glenview Village Board is
finally set.
Independent teen candidate
Benjamin Polony
successfully withstood a
challenge this month from
four residents who sought
to have his name stricken
from the ballot.
After close inspection
by the Cook County
Clerk’s Office, Polony’s
petitions were determined
to have included 222 valid
signatures from Glenview
residents, putting him
over the 196-signature
hurdle that all candidates
had to clear to appear on
the ballot. (See Page 3 for
more on the challenge and
Polony’s reaction.)
With Polony’s inclusion
on the ballot now confirmed,
there will be seven
candidates on the ballot:
Polony; Citizens for Glenview
candidates Mary
Cooper, Chuck Gitles and
incumbent trustee Mike
Jenny; and Dia Morgan,
Tom Greenhaw and Cathy
Wilson, who are running
as the Better Government
in Glenview Party.
Barring any unexpected
write-in campaigns, three
of these seven people will
be tasked with leading the
Village of Glenview four
the next four years.
Take advantage of this
vast pool of candidates
and don’t waste any time
getting to know who they
are and where they stand
on the issues that matter
most to you.
